Bold Color Confidence | Jody Morrow

Color can be both daring and delightful when used with intention. In this project, I combined the Peony Glow stamp, stencil, and die set—illustrated by Kinnari Zaveri—to create a card full of vibrant energy and texture. Each element was inked in bright, joyful tones using the coordinating stencils, then stacked on multiple blank die cuts to build weight and structure, much like custom chipboard pieces. The crisp white frame and lattice background provide structure, while the complementary bright blue backdrop adds drama and contrast. Sometimes more is more—especially when color, composition, and layering come together in perfect harmony.

How to recreate this card:

1. Create a top-folding A2 card base from white cardstock.
2. Ink blend the front of the card base using Waterfall and Paradise ink (just around the very outer edge).
3. Die cut the Diamond Lattice from a piece of 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" white cardstock.  Adhere to the card base using liquid glue.
4. Using the third-largest Double Stitched Rectangle die, cut a panel from white cardstock. Adhere to the center of the card using foam tape.
5. Stamp the sentiment with Versamark and heat-emboss it with silver. Die cut, and stack with two blank die cuts. 
6. Stamp the two floral stamps with Rocky Slope ink. Add color with the coordinating stencils: 
   1. Stencil 1: Sparkling Rose, Raspberry Bliss
   2. Stencil 2: Fresh Pear, Grassy Knoll
   3. Stencil 3: Mimosa, Fruit Punch
   4. Stencil 4: Mimosa, Fruit Punch, Sparkling Rose, Raspberry Bliss
   5. Stencil 5: Lemon Whip
7. Die cut all of the elements. Stack the largest bouquet and two corner elements with two blanks to add sturdiness. Adhere the corner elements with liquid glue. Adhere the large bouquet with thin foam adhesive.
8. Adhere the sentiment with liquid glue. 
9. Embellish with Iridescent Clear Drops using liquid glue.
