Hi Pinkfresh friends! It's Angela here, with a project to inspire some autumn card making. I don't know about you, but I'm more of a summer girl than a fan of fall. The cooler temperatures ahead are not my favorite, but one thing I DO love is all the gorgeous colors of autumn. I've been having fun bringing these into my card designs lately, and today's features the previously-released Indigo Vines stamp, layering stencil and die trio.

At first glance this stamp set doesn't look like it's intended for fall, but that's one of the things to love about it - it's great for crafting year-round! To give it a seasonal feel, I selected some warmer-toned ink pads: Candy Apple, Raspberry Bliss, Sparkling Rose, Persimmon, Clementine and Marigold. With the Indigo Vines wreath stamp in my stamping platform, I inked it up with those colors, starting with the yellow/oranges and moving through to Candy Apple so as not to contaminate the lighter colors. When it was completely covered, I stamped the outline image and the result was a lovely multi-colored wreath.

Next up came the stenciling, and like the outline, I applied the inks in the same order, blending them together as I worked through each layering stencil. Once it was all filled in, I cut it out with the coordinating die and set it aside so that I could work on the background. For this, I chose the Diamond Tile cling stamp, one of my favorites for backgrounds because though the lines are fine, they always create such a great sharp impression. I embossed the background in fine gold embossing powder, heat set it, then trimmed the panel down to 3.5" x 4.75".

For the assembly, I mounted the wreath and a gold foiled Thank You from the Perfect Sentiments set with foam tape, then covered the entire backside of the panel with foam tape. Once this was centered on my card base, I finished the design off with a few small gold metallic pearls.

I think the combination of the warmer colors and the gold features really makes these Indigo Vines look like they're dressed up for fall, and you could absolutely apply the same thing to other stamp sets in your stash. (The Joyful Bouquet stamp and stencil would be perfect, and I think I'll be trying them next!)
