It’s Eva here on the blog today, sharing a layout created using one of my favorite design techniques: repetition.

You can apply the principle of repetition using colors, shapes, embellishments, and even photos. For today’s project, I chose to create four decorated oval shapes and repeat that element throughout the page to achieve a cohesive and balanced design.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Cut the oval shapes from the Life You Love patterned paper.
2. Slightly overlap two sides of each oval and adhere them to the page using 3D foam dots for dimension.
3. Add the title using the Mini Alpha Stickers.
4. Add the photos. I used three 2x2 inch photos and tucked them slightly inside the ovals.
5. Decorate each oval with flowers and a few small puffy stickers.
6. Finish the layout with enamel dots.

Tip: Working with repetition is not only visually effective but also very time-saving. By focusing on decorating one small element at a time, you can quickly build a cohesive layout without feeling overwhelmed. Try preparing all your repeated shapes first and then decorating them assembly-line style for an even faster process.
