Simple & Sweet, It Is!

Simple & Sweet, It Is!

Hi PF friends!  It's Ashley, and I'm here with a new layout.  There is no better name for the newest collection from Pinkfresh Studio...Simple & Sweet is the perfect description!  I am in love with everything from the colors, patterned papers and pretty much, all of it!  I couldn't wait to use it when it landed on my doorstep, so I got to work the day after it arrived.  The Good Company patterned paper was the first thing that caught my eye, and I hope you're inspired by how I used it.

If there was ever the perfect patterned paper for stitching, it's definitely this one!  I chose 6 different colors of embroidery floss that coordinated with the collection.  The stitching took several hours, but I just love the finished look.  When I'm working on a project like this I always listen to music or watch some scrappy YouTube videos.  I've always loved hand-stitching no matter the amount of time it takes to complete it.

When I started adding the title and embellishments to the layout, I decided to keep everything toward the outer edge of the stitching.  I didn't want to cover it up, but I still wanted to be able to incorporate a lot of the embellishments from the collection, and I ended up with the perfect look.  I placed my title at the bottom of the stitched hearts, and used the Puffy Alpha Stickers.  Mixing the three different colors added a fun look to the title.

I completed the design of the layout by continuing a mix of chipboard, ephemera, and puffy stickers around the perimeter of the stitching.  It's always fun mixing all of the embellishments to add interest to your layout or project.
