Playing with Concentric Circles | Susi Becerra
Hello Pinkfresh Studio friends! It's Susi here today on the Pinkfresh Studio blog sharing a new 12 x 12 Layout created with the Legendary collection. The title is " Smile and Share" and this page is all about playing with concentric circles to build movement and a geometric eye-catching design. It's a fun and original way to mix patterned papers while adding depth and color to your layout..

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
1. Prepare the base
Start with a 12 x 12 sheet of white cardstock. Draw a light diagonal line from the top left corner to the bottom right corner using a pencil. This will be the alignment guide for your circles.
2. Draw the first concentric circles.
Using a compass, draw a circle with a 3-inch radius. Then, inside that circle, draw another one with a 2-inch radius to create the first set of concentric circles.
3. Repeat the process
Repeat the previous step to draw another two concentric circles. Make sure the outer circle(3-inch radius) touches the inner circle (2-inch radius) of the previous set.
4.Cut the circle bands
In the space between each pair of concentric circles , make four cuts evenly spaced around the band area.Repeat this step for both circle sets.
5. Prepare the patterned strips
Choose several coordinating patterned papers from the Legendary collection. Cut strips about 1 inch wide, giving each one a curved shape and a pointed arrow like end.
6. Insert the strips
Slide each paper strip through the cuts in your base, weaving them to create texture and movement along the circular bands.
7. Add photos and title
Once the circular elements are in place, add your title and your photos.
8. Decorate the page
Embellish the layout with your favorite pieces from the Legendary collection- Chipboard, Puffy Stickers, Ephemera, cardstock stickers...

Quick Tip
Use foam adhesive under some of the circular paper strips to add dimension. You can also experiment with different shapes or replace the paper strips with stitched details for a unique texture.
I hope this layout inspires you to play with geometry and players in your next project. Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you soon with more creative ideas and inspiration.
