Hi everyone, welcome back to the Pink Fresh Studio blog. I am excited to share with you my first project using the new Pink Fresh Studio Christmas collection called Oh, What Fun!.

While creating this project I stepped outside my comfort zone and made a heavily mixed media background using the beautiful liquid watercolours as I wanted the this intricate cut file to really stand out on the page.

This cut file is called Floral Tile and I created this by copying it four times and then welding it together using my cameo software.

As you can see I went with the reds and the blues and tried my best to keep with the two colors when embellishing my layout. This was lots of fun especially when you get to dig around in all the beautiful embellishments the Oh, What Fun! collection is filled with.

To help the cut file feel as though it is apart of the background I have used some enamel dots in the centres of the flowers and leave clusters. It adds a little detail and help makes the layout come together.

I hope my layout has inspired you to try and create a layout with a mixed media background with a feature cut file overlay.
