All About the Hearts | The Mix No. 2 & Be You Layouts | Kathleen Graumüller

Hey there, it's Kathleen here with you and it feels good to be back here on the Pinkfresh Studio blog! :)

Today I have two layouts for you using the new "Be You" and "The Mix No. 2" collections and coincidentally both feature lots of hearts. I guess when making them I was feeling the Valentine's spirit :D And because of those two, the "The Mix No. 2" is my favourite, I will share the page I made using that one first.

Before I started working on my layout, I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do. The only thing I did know was that I wanted to use lots of different colours of the puffy alphabet stickers and that photo of my husband and me. And when I thought about how colourful this collection is, the title "You Colour My World" somehow popped into my head.

Instead of writing the whole title with all the different colours, I decided to use the grey ones for the most part and all the other colours (apart from the navy blue) for the word "colour".

For the layers behind my photo I used some of the die cut pieces and stickers from the collection, and also matted my photo onto a piece of packaging (the packaging of all the The Mix No. 2 products has this really nice pink/orange grid design). Behind the photo cluster I used some watercolours to create this pink background to make the photo and embellishments really stand out.

I kept the rest of the layout very simple and with lots of white space to make the colours really pop. For embellishing I used a mix of heart embellishments: some puffy stickers, some of the layered hearts and a cardstock sticker, too.

To finish my page, I only added some paint splatters, and a border around it for which I used the "Beautiful" paper from the "Be You" collection.

I'm really happy with how this turned out - I absolutely love the contrast of the white against those bright colours!

Now for a more "subtle" page that I created using the "Be You" collection.

For this layout I mainly used the 6"x6" paper pad and my die cutting machine to cut some hearts in different sizes. I tried to focus mainly on the papers that had some navy blue, turqouise/aqua, and that coral/red colour.

I also used some vellum from my stash to cut out some hearts that I could layer in with the rest of the paper hearts. On the one above my photo I added my journaling with my typewriter before adhering it to the page.

Apart from the paper and vellum hearts I also added in some other heart-shaped embellishments, like the rose gold chipboard heart sticker above my photo, some die cuts and some of the puffy heart stickers (from The Mix No. 2 and the Be You puffy sticker sheets).

I also repeated some of the floral elements from the papers with the little cluster on the right side of my photo and the puffy flowers stickers that I scattered across the page.

The photo I used is of my dog Flaca snuggled up very closely to me, so the title "Kuschelmaus" (German for sth. like cuddlebug) seemed very fitting ;)

For the finishing touches I added some paint splatters in navy blue and coral and the paper strip (from the "Sincere" paper) on the left side of my layout that repeats the colours and patterns of the paper hearts used on the page.

Okay, that's it from me today! I hope you feel inspired to use the new "Be You" and "The Mix No. 2" collections and get all lovey-dovey with them ;)

Thanks for stopping by,

Kathleen
