Let Your Heart Decide Layouts | Elsie Robinson

Let Your Heart Decide Layouts | Elsie Robinson

Hey PFS fans, it's Elsie here with two new layouts for you using the Let Your Heart Decide collection and a little bit of The Mix Vol.2 thrown in for good measure!

I think I must've been subconsciously inspired by the adorable hummingbird image on some of the embellishments in the LYHD collection, because there is a definite bird theme on both of my layouts!

For my first layout I used this Origami bird cut file as my starting point. I mainly used the 6x6 paper pad to back each bird with some patterned paper and I backed each section with different patterns of the same colour. I also found the 12x12 paper 'Caper' to be especially useful as there are so many different patterns to chose from.

After I had backed each bird I stitched around it with some white thread, since I love the texture this adds. I also stitched some lines from the top of the page down to make it look like the birds were hanging on a wall.

I used the 'Impulse' paper as my background because I love that the subtle pattern and light colour don't clash with the birds.

I also used the Terrarium Dies (from a previous release) to create some hanging planters to fill in the gaps between the birds. I filled them with some floral ephemera pieces and some of the leatherette stickers.

And to embellish the birds I used a combination of ephemera pieces, puffy stickers, wood shapes and the epoxy hearts to create small clusters, as well as some of the small heart and star puffy stickers from The Mix.

For my next page I started with a cut file again. I used this gorgeous Swan cut file for the main focal point on my page and this lily pad cut file to create lots of flowers and greenery.

I love the paper 'Escapade' because of all the different shades of yellow and green and the green side was the perfect paper to use to back my lily pads and do some die-cutting with. I love that all of the lily pads are unique because each one has different shades of green in it. This adds just the right amount of interest without being too distracting!

I also did a little mixed media work on this page. I wanted the swan to be glittery so I used some shimmery silver iridescent paint to create a sparkly swan. And I needed some water for the swan to swim on, so I created a light wash using blue watercolour to get that effect.

I've wanted to use the cloud die-cut since I first opened the LYHD ephemera pack, so I was happy to use it on this page! I used one of the stickers from the washi pack to create a little sun and also some of the peach-coloured puffy stars from The Mix to hang from the cloud for a bit of whimsy!

I've been wanting to use the photo on this page for the longest time, but since it's a very awkward shape and it has lots of rich blue and greens in it, I haven't been able to. But it fits perfectly on this page since the colours match with the vibrant colours in the LYHD collection, and it nestles in perfectly on the swan!

I clustered a few embellishments around it and used the cute 'next chapter' tag die-cut as my title, since the photo was taken at my friends' wedding.

And since we're all dressed up in the photo, I had to make the swan a little fancier! So I created a little crown from a small scrap of the 'Escapade' paper and adorned it with a shiny gold heart sticker... So fancy!

Thanks for joining me today everyone, I hope you're inspired to create with your Pinkfresh goodies!
