How to Create a Colorful Block Background | Eva Pizarro
Hello everyone! Eva here, sharing a project where I had fun experimenting with color and rhythm.
For this layout, I turned to the Legendary Collection and used one of its patterned papers to create a design inspired by music equalizers. By arranging the colorful blocks in different heights, I built a vibrant, dynamic background that adds energy to the page while keeping everything cohesive.

Step-by-Step Instructions
- Cut colored strips from the Life in Progress pagee.
- Arrange the strips from the center toward the top of the layout.
- Use the scrap pieces of paper to add a few rectangles and squares throughout the page.
- Add your photos and your title.
- Embellish with Chipboard shapes, stickers and Ephemera pieces.
- Finish the layout with your journaling spot.
Tip: If you want extra dimension, try lifting some of the color blocks with foam dots. This will make your “equalizer” effect stand out even more and add fun movement to the page.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope this layout inspires you to experiment with color blocks and create your own rhythm-inspired designs!
Have a great day,
Eva
