Festive Scrapbooking with Holiday Vibes | Elsie Robinson

Hi PFS fans, it’s Elsie here sharing my first two layouts using the amazing Holiday Vibes collection. I look forward to Pinkfresh’s Christmas collections every year, and Holiday Vibes does not disappoint! I had a blast making these two festive pages, so let me talk you through them both…

For this first layout I was inspired by this car and Christmas tree cut file (designed by Paige Evans) and so I cut it from white cardstock and backed it with the Let It Snow and Love & Peace papers, as well as some glitter cardstock from my stash.

To add a bit of whimsy into my design, I created a cut file of stars and sparkles that cascaded diagonally across my page. I backed this with some navy paper that I created using the Pinkfresh Liquid Watercolours because I wanted a solid colour to back the stars. I placed the car cut file at the top right of the page, which made it look like the car was flying off into the distance. This is so whimsical, but so cute!!

I also used the Merry Christmas paper to cut out some clouds, which I then hand-stitched around. And for even more whimsy, I fussy-cut some houses and trees (from the ‘Magical Forest’ and ‘Home for the Holidays’ papers) and clustered them atop the clouds. I also used some die-cuts, like the string lights I adhered on top of my photo because I love the gold foil on them!

For my second layout I couldn’t resist doing some paper-piecing and creating a giant and very jolly looking Santa! I used this Santa cut file to cut all of the pieces using my Silhouette and once they were cut I glued them all together. The red pattern on the ‘Magical Forest’ paper was the perfect Christmas red for Santa’s suit; I love how this looks!

Obviously Santa had to be surrounded by presents! To create these I cut several patterned papers into squares and rectangles, and to make them look like presents I wrapped some embroidery thread around them and tied a bow on the front. These were so simple to create and I love the extra colour they add to my page!

To go along with the gift-giving theme, I created a small 2x3 inch envelope using the ‘Home for the Holidays’ paper, cut my photo into a tag shape and popped it into my envelope. I also used some gold glitter paper to line the inside of my envelope, because I don’t think you can have enough sparkle at Christmastime!

To finish my design, I fussy-cut several rows of the string lights from the ‘Seasons Greetings’ paper, and I adhered them to my page using foam dots. I perched a little die-cut bird on the lights and drew some small music notes for a cute detail! The ‘Ho Ho Ho’ die-cut phrase might be my favourite ephemera piece, and I placed it at an angle near Santa’s head so it looked like he was saying it!

Thanks for stopping by today everyone! I hope the Holiday Vibes collection puts you in the festive spirit, like it has done with me!
