I'm so honored to be here with you today, sharing a couple of projects I made with the super gorgeous Escape the Ordinary collection! Thank you so much Kinnari for this wonderful opportunity!

First, a little bit about myself: I'm Hungarian but live in Germany with my Dutch boyfriend and our soon-to-be 9 year-old son. I've actually been living here for almost 13 years: I moved here for work and to be closer to Holland. And then we kind of just stayed here :). I've been crafting all my life! I went through so many crafts I lost count. I started scrapbooking in 2015 after a back surgery that made it impossible for me to carry on with my previous hobby, cookie and cake decorating. It also made more sense to me, because these pages I can keep and they will help us remember little or big moments we might forget otherwise. This is also the craft I've been doing longest as of now. I normally get bored easily so I kind of expected to be doing a different craft by now. I am very happy that this did not turn out to be the case! About my projects...I love how versatile this collection is, one can go in so many directions! Having said that, I really love flowers and I definitely wanted to make some floral pages.

For my first layout, Love (these are the moments), I picked a free cut file from Paper Issues and cut it from white card stock. I backed the flowers and leaves with different papers from the 6x6 paper pad and adhered it to the "Explore" paper which I chose for my background. Add this point I also glued down my photo because the heart cut file was partially placed on top of it. Then I started adding and layering different things. I hand cut a flower and several leaves from the 6x6 papers to add more color to the white cut file. I curled these up for some dimension. Now, I'm not a fan of red, but the red in this collection is on the coral side and it is wonderful! So I added a couple of die cut leaves for some pops of red. I had to use some of the little stitched hearts of course, they are adorable! To define the heart better, I hand stitched around it with blue floss. I placed a couple of fabric die cuts on the right as well as my title (which is from the ephemera pack). I wrote my journaling below the title, added some black splatters and I was done.

For my second layout I lifted an old layout of mine. I love grids and I love circles and this is a combination of both! I chose a few floral circle frame cut files from the Silhouette Store and cut these out from white card stock. I then chose my photos. The red in this collection reminded me of red ibises and as luck would have it I recently took a hundred photos of them at Moody Gardens in Galveston! Such stunning birds! I backed two of the circles with my two photos, the rest I backed with different patterned papers, making sure I have one that is not so busy so I can write my journaling on it. For my background I chose the "Transform" paper, which is my favorite in this collection. I placed my title in the middle circle, using the super awesome leatherette alphas. Then i just decorated my circles with pieces from the ephemera, fabric die cuts and sticker packs. To finish off my page I splattered some black ink here and there.

Now for my cards. If you know me, you know that I am not a card maker by any means. However I do occasionally enjoy making them to use up scraps of papers mostly. Plus they are much quicker than layouts so if I want a quick project, I'll make cards. I just wish I actually mailed them haha!

I recently bought a Cuttlebug so I definitely wanted to try the wonderful stamp and die sets included in Escape the Ordinary. I cut the background from the "Chase" paper which I then adhered to a white card stock. I stamped some of the images directly on the background. The clouds however I stamped on the "Wander" paper, the moon on the "Transform" paper and fussy cut these out. I used foam adhesive to pop this up and give some dimension to my card. I did the same with my sentiment, which is a die cut from the ephemera pack. For additional dimension and texture I used some puffy stickers too. I backed all of this with the beautiful mint "Dare" paper and adhered it all to my white card stock card base. I splattered some gold ink on this card as a final touch.

I then realized I haven't even touched the stunning tags! So I just had to make another card, ha! For my base I again used the "Chase" paper. I adhered the tag to white card stock and fussy cut around it, just to have a sliver of white to help define the edges. I adhered this down with foam adhesive, again, for dimension. I used the leatherette alphas for my sentiment. I cut a piece of the "Discover" paper to back my card and attached all to my white card stock card base. I was kind of missing something and thought I would add some machine stitched lines on the left but of course my sewing machine was acting up again so I couldn't. That's why I ended up hand stitching on it. Gold splatters and done!
