Guest Designer - Tazhiana Gordon
Hello crafty friends! I am so stoked to be guest designing for Pinkfresh this month and to share my first project with you. The Days of Splendor line is just the most gorgeous thing – soft florals, warm neutrals and the color palette is literally delightful and I am so pleased that I got to play with it.
For my first project, I started by tearing the Simply Magical patterned paper in half on the diagonal and attaching it to a sheet of white cardstock. Next, I began working on three clusters simultaneously – it makes it much easier for me to work on multiple elements at the same time if I am going to be using the same bits and pieces for each one.
After cutting apart the cut apart sheet to use for layers, I put together three bows and set them aside to dry. For my bottom cluster, I used a piece from the Journaling bits as my base layer and then I grabbed the Floral Ephemera and added a million flowers to everything because flowers make everything better. I then glued my clusters together using a mix of wet glue and foam tape and went to work on my title.
For my title, I chose to die cut the letters using the Heather lowercase die set and one of the patterned papers from the collection. I chose to mix both the filled in alphabet as well as the outline for my title work and I love the mix and match element this design choice gives the whole layout. I thought it was really playful and fun – a perfect choice for a layout about my one year old nephew!
Finally, I glued down my clusters and added some cardstock stickers and some puffy stickers to finish the layout! I love the color scheme of this page, the triangular design and how fun the title work is and I think this is an easily repeated design if you decide to make something of your own.
I hope this layout inspired you to pull out your Days of Splendor collection and tell a story.

This is beautiful! Love the clusters, and thanks for the tip on creating all three at the same time – makes so much sense! And look at that happy boy – the dimple! I’m waiting for my collection to arrive – you’ve been an inspiration!
