Hello crafty friends! It's Susi here! Today I'm excited to share a new 12 x 12 layout created with the beautiful Fresh Start collection from Pinkfresh Studio. This project was inspired by one simple idea: opening a Venetian blind at the start of a new day.I wanted my layout to capture that peaceful morning feeling when the first rays of sunlight filter through the blinds, bringing with them a fresh start and endless possibilities. That's why I chose the title Begin Again.

To recreate this idea, I built a handmade Venetian blind using wooden craft sticks and white thread, making it the focal point of the layout.

Step by Step instructions 

1. Create the Venetian Blind. Cut a rectangle from one of the patterned papers from the Fresh Start collection. Attach a wooden craft stick to the top and another to the bottom. Then, use white thread to create the pull cords by wrapping vertically around both sticks. This simple detail transforms the paper into a realistic Venetian blind.
2. Build the main composition. Adhere the finished blind to the center of a white 12 x 12 cardstock using foam adhesive underneath to lift it slightly and create soft dimension.
3. Add your photo. Place your photo below the center of the blind, allowing it to become part of the scene, as if you are looking through the window into a brand new day.
4. Decorate with florals and butterflies.Create two balanced floral clusters on opposite sides of the blind using flowers, leaves and butterflies from the collection. Layer the embellishments with foam adhesive to give the composition depth and movement while framing the photo.
5. Add the title. Complete the design with the title "Begin Again". near the bottom of the blind. I also added the word TODAY using the rubs from the collection.
6. Finish the layout. Scatter a few enamel dots, stars around the composition to add texture and guide the eye across the page.

TIP

Look beyond the obvious when searching for inspiration. Everyday objects, like a window, a notebook, a coffee cup or, in this case, a Venetian blind, can become the perfect starting point for a unique scrapbook layout. Turning familiar objects into paper designs is a wonderful way to tell your story in a fresh a creative way.
