Fall scrapbooking layouts featuring Indigo Hills 2
Hello crafty friends! It's Jung here, and today, I'm sharing 2 fall layouts I created with the gorgeous Indigo Hills 2 collection. This collection is so beautiful and perfect for fall colored layouts!
For my first layout, I was inspired by the elongated hexagon wood veneer. I chose the bigger sized piece, and traced it onto a scrap piece of cardstock. I used that template to cut out the same shape and size out of some of the pattern papers in the collection. I used the Glen, Valley, Gorge, Ridge, Meadow, and Eminence.
I decided to use a blue cardstock for my layout, because it worked well with the photo and the colors in the IH2 collection. I splattered it with some gold ink, and then I arranged the hexagon in a random pattern, trying to make sure none of the same patterns were right next to each other. I machine stitched through some of the hexagons. I also decided to hand stitch some hexagons in 3 of the spots.
Next, I backed my photo with the gorgeous Ridge paper, and adhered it to the layout with foam squares. I added my title, using the gold puffy alpha stickers and mini puffy alpha stickers.
I finished my layout by embellishing my photo with just a few things...I really want the hexagons to be the star of the show (along with my photo). I added a few chipboard sticker accents, a tag from the journaling spot embellishments, and another one of the wood hexagons.
For my second layout, I decided to make some layered hearts embellishments. I die cut different sized hearts from the papers: Gorge, Ridge, Eminence.
I used the negatives of the hearts that I die cut as a makeshift stencil. I mixed white embossing paste, with just a little bit of the lavender watercolor, and added some hearts to white cardstock. I love the texture that it gives. I also watered down some more of the lavender watercolor to add some splatters onto the page.
I typed my journaling on my typewriter beforehand, directly to the background. I backed my photos with the Ridge paper, and adhered them to the layout towards the top and all the way to the right.
I embellished my layout in a diagonal across my layout. I filled in the spaces with the layered hearts embellishments that I made, and a flower cluster that I fussy cut from the Glen paper. I also added the rainbow from the ephemera pack.
I wanted to add more hearts to fill in some of the spaces, so I used a few from the chipboard stickers and the puffy sticker packs.
I slightly embellished the photos with a couple puffy stickers, and a few ephemera pieces. For my title, I used the mini puffy alpha.
To finish off my layout, I added just a little bit of doodled hearts to mirror the sketchy flowers that I fussy cut.
That's it for me today. I love how my layouts turned out. The second layout's story is a hard one to tell, but I'm glad I got it down. I hope I've inspired you to get crafty!
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a great day!
