Everday Musings Layouts with Lorilei Murphy
Hello Pinkfresh friends!! I was so excited to receive the new Pinkfresh Studio collections! Today I am focusing on Everyday Musings, this collection to me feels super homey with lovely colors and florals!
I loved the colors and patterns in the Everyday Musings papers and wanted to use them all! I decided to go with a design I have made before because A. I love it and B. it shows off all the patterned papers in such a cool way! I used my 1 1/2" circle punch and punched seven circles from all the papers but one. I then cut those circles in half with scissors, the circles end up being slightly wonky, but I'm ok with that, it adds to the homemade feel! I kept all the patterns in piles so it would be easier to spread out the colors and patterns in the circles. I doubled the patterns involved by using the b side of the papers as well.
Once I had all my half circles lightly adhered I used my sewing machine to stitch around the circles. I then flipped up the edges to add dimension to the layout. To embellish I added the word Joy in the super fun Everday Musings Alphabet and tucked a few florals in behind my photo. One of the sweet layered hearts and a sentiment strip finished the layout off!
This is the 4th time I have made a layout in this design. It reminds me of a vintage quilt, and I love it! The first time I was inspired to try this design by Paige Evans!
For my next layout, I ended up having quite a few half circles leftover so I thought I would see how I could use them. I decided to line them up on an 8.5x11 background I had added some stenciling and paint to for another idea. I loved how they looked so onward I went! I stitched the top portion of the half circles and flipped them up at the edges for dimension. I had printed my photos out in two different size options and decided to use both of them.
Next up I wanted to add a title with the alphas, the title is a bit on the silly side, but hey, who else is going to call us fab :) I added three of the layered hearts trailing down the page and also added a gold puffy heart close to each of the layered hearts.
I jazzed up the smaller photo with one of the cute yellow frames and added a sentiment strip as well. I love how this page turned out; it will be in my favorites!
Lastly, I have an extra page. I was trimming the punched parts of the papers off and decided to pile them on a background. I did some messy stitching to hold them all down which saved me from gluing them all. I picked out some circle die cuts to pop into some of the holes in the pattern papers, and the blue circle inspired me to add the Amazing title.
I kept the layout pretty simple and used one of the Everyday Musings Pocket cards for a focal point beside my photo. I am quite pleased with the fun layouts I made using a few circles and the leftover pieces!
Everyday Musings is a gorgeous collection and very user friendly, so great for everyday stories and photos!
