Framing the Moment: A Dimensional Scrapbook Layout | Karlla Dauer

Hello Pinkfresh Friends! Karlla here, and I’m so excited to share this layout with you today. The Crafted Moments Collection is absolutely gorgeous, and I’m completely obsessed with it!

One of my favorite techniques for adding interest to a layout is creating a subtle 3D effect. It brings extra dimension and makes the whole design feel more dynamic.

Building a dimensional frame like this is also a great way to highlight your photo and naturally draw the eye to it. Even if the rest of your layout includes lots of embellishments, colors, and patterns, the frame helps keep the photo as the true focal point while everything else beautifully supports it.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Cut a piece of white cardstock to 11.5" x 11.5".
Cut out the center of the floral paper (B-side Create your Way) & adhere the white cardstock onto it. Optional: add machine stitching around the outside edge.
Cut the Stay Curious paper to 10.5" x 10.5" with the pink side facing up. In the center, cut an “X,” then gently turn back the edges without creasing them. Stitch the folded edges in place to secure them. If you prefer, you can simply glue down the tips and add a finishing touch with small details such as enamel shapes.
Adhere it to the white cardstock using foam adhesive.
Cut the remaining floral paper (Step 2) to approx. 5" x 5", so it fits exactly inside the X & adhere it with foam adhesive.
Frame your photo with one of the chipboard sticker frames. Add enamel dots in the corners, then adhere it to the floral square.
Embellish to your liking.
Complete the layout by placing the flowers at both ends of the X, along with the phrase from the chipboard stickers and the gold enamel dots.

Tip: If you plan to place your layout in a page protector or prefer a little less dimension, you can simply fold the curled edges and adhere the tips of the triangles with thin foam adhesive. This way you still create the framed effect and add some dimension, but keep the overall bulk of the layout to a minimum.
