Be You & The Mix Vol. 2 | Scrapbook Layouts | Elsie Robinson
Hey PFS fans, it's Elsie here! I bet I'm not the only one who has been blown away by the latest Pinkfresh releases? I'm totally in love with them all, so I'm really excited to share two projects I've created with Be You and The Mix Vol. 2.
Be You
I'm totally obsessed with this collection, designed by the ahhh-mazing Inna Moreva. There's so much to love about it: the patterns, the colour scheme and the rose gold (yes, rose gold!) foiling!
Since this collection was designed by Inna, I thought I would use this opportunity to use some of the cut files she has on offer in her Etsy store. So I used the cute floral cat and the butterfly cut files on this layout.
I love all of the blue tones in this collection so I backed all of my flowers with blue patterned papers, and to contrast I backed the butterflies with the pink/coral patterns.
I cut the cat from the scaled down 6x6 version of the 'Lovely' paper and embellished it with one of the adorable tassel bows - I love the texture this adds!
This rose gold alpha might be one of my all-time favourites! I love the cursive font and it's small enough to nestle in with the design of the layout but the foiling means it really packs a punch!
And to embellish the rest of the page I used a little of everything: puffy-stickers, wooden buttons and die-cuts. All of the embellishments were so beautiful that I had to stop myself from using it all on this one page!
And now for a layout with a totally different colour scheme!
The Mix Vol. 2
I wanted to challenge myself with this page by using no patterned papers with this embellishment collection.
I was in the mood to get my watercolours out and so I decided to create a rainbow with the same colours that are in the collection.
Once my watercolour rainbow was dry I decided to cut up and use it to back a cut file. I chose this cloud background one from Just Nick.
The alphas in this collection are so awesome and versatile they would work with any kind of crafty project - they're definitely a must-have item for your stash!
I'm honestly terrible at coming up with titles, so using alphas is something I struggle with. But I decided to go to town with the alphas on this page and spell out one of my favourite Roald Dahl quotes.
Using a tone-on-tone technique is such an easy way to use your embellishments to build up detail and texture on your pages, and The Mix is the perfect collection to do that.
I made sure that whatever embellishments I used were aligned with their corresponding colour on the rainbow. And since all of the embellishments in the collection matched, everything came together really quickly.
I love the tassel bows and stitched hearts and stars in this collection, but my absolute favourite thing has to be the 6x12" sheets of puffy hearts and stars - they are the perfect finishing touch to any page!
Thanks for joining me today and I hope you've got some inspiration on how to use the gorgeous Be You and The Mix collections!
Have a great weekend!
