Pinkfresh Studio + Just Nick Blog Hop, Bright and Graphic Cards by Carson

Hello and welcome back to all the blog hopping fun!  It's Carson here today to show you how I used some stunning graphic cut file backgrounds from Just Nick to make these fun and unexpected cards.

Pinkfresh Studio + Just Nick Blog Hop bright and graphic cards by Carson Riutta

While browsing the Just Nick shop, I found myself lingering on the 12x12 graphic backgrounds, especially the two I used here, Positive 3 and Funky Rectangles.  I knew I wanted to make cards for this challenge and I thought these two backgrounds in particular would be perfect to shrink down and use to add texture and fun to a couple of cute cards.  I then knew that I would need some sentiments and the Enjoy The Moment and Good Vibes sets fit the bill perfectly.

For this first card, I shrunk the 12x12 background file to fit in a 4.25x5.5 inch rectangle and deleted the excess.  I then put a cut line around the rectangle so my silhouette would cut out my whole card front, saving me some time.  Once, the base was cut I backed each plus sign with a piece of colorful paper from the Life Noted Collection.  I love how well all the colors go together and how fun and festive they look.  Using black paper, I then cut out the sentiments and glued them around that gorgeous epoxy ampersand.  At this point the card was almost done, it just needed a little texture, the twine, and some more interest, the stamped stars.

For my second card I pulled some fun papers from the Felicity Collection and prepared the Funky Rectangle cut file the same way as before.  Shrinking it to fit the card front and deleting the excess image.  Once the card front was cut I backed it with a piece of bright pink patterned paper and decided on the Bloom sentiment from the Good Vibes cut file set.  I wanted the cards to coordinate so I stuck with the black paper for the sentiment and then added some matching twine.  A few more embellishments from Felicity finished it off perfectly.

I hope you'll try modifying some large background cut files the next time you make some cards.  With just a little time on the computer and some help from your Silhouette, you can produce some very unique and surprising cards!
