Using Ink Blending to Create a Focal Point | Rachel Alvarado

Hello Pinkfresh Studio friends! It's Rachel here with a card that features the new and adorable Ice Cream Truck product suite.  This set has so many cute images, but I focused mainly on the yummy ice cream cone that comes with the set.

How to recreate this card:

1.  Use the Ice Cream Truck Stamp Set and Detail Black Ink to stamp only the ice cream cone three times onto three small pieces of white card stock. (I used Neenah Solar White 110lb).

2.  Die cut each cone individually using the coordinating Ice Cream Truck Die Set.  

3.  Blend color onto your three cones separately using the coordinating Ice Cream Truck Stencils.  

4.  Use the following Pinkfresh Studio ink colors to achieve the same look as my card or use whatever colors you desire to get a different look.  

• Stencil 1: Sparkling Rose
• Stencil 2: Ocean Breeze
• Stencil 3: Warm Buff, Doe
• Stencil 4: Candy Violet

5.  Trim a piece of smooth white card stock to 4.25" x 5.5" for your card base.  (You can later layer this onto whatever folding A2-sized card base you want.)  

5.  Using some low-tack tape, mask off a vertical rectangular strip down the left side of your card base and then blend the inside of the rectangle with Sparkling Rose, Ocean Breeze, and Candy Violet Inks.

6.  For added texture, spatter this ink-blended portion lightly with water and blot it dry with a clean paper towel.  If more texture is desired, you can also add some spatters of diluted white paint (I used Copic Opaque White Paint).

7.  After the ink-blended portion dries, stamp your sentiment onto the mid-top right section of your card with more Detail Black Ink.

8. Adhere your cones on top of the ink-blended strip with 3D foam adhesive tape for a pop of dimension.

9.  Add some Blush Glitter Drops for some extra sparkle.

TIP: I added some generic faux white sprinkles to each cone for more texture.  

I hope you enjoyed my card today! I thought these cones were so cute and that they would make a perfect focal point for a fun and colorful but simple birthday card.
