Snowy Scene With Offset Stamping
Hi everyone! It's Anne here up on the blog today with a slimline snowy Christmas scene, I love a bright red house for that Christmas-y feel.
I started things off by putting a piece of light gray cardstock into the stamping platform and used Gathered Twigs to ink up the slimline stamp from You Are Amazing, to get the look of bare branches in the winter. I left the stamp where it was in the stamping platform and shifted the paper just slightly then white heat embossed the image again, over the brown branches and leaves. I splattered with white gouache generously and set it aside to dry.
I decided I needed a more snowy effect and thought that the pretty, flowery slimline stamp from the Incredibly Grateful set would also frame the picture nicely. I white heat embossed it onto some vellum and die cut it out with the accompanying die set.
Before adhering it down though, I stamped and cut out the house, trees and sentiment from Our Home to Yours, and arranged a little scene just offset from the center. I thought it might be fun to use some brown/copper Jewels and red pearls in the places where the flowers are, and that's where I put the little pieces of foam tape to keep it up off of the background piece. There's so much white going on there though, that I didn't worry too much about the foam tape being visible.
After I arranged and glued everything down, I realized that I wanted to put a few of those lovely snowflakes from the Layered Snowflakes die set around the inside frame. And that was the final touch on my bright snowy Christmas scene.
I hope some of these design choices inspire you to make something new today. Thanks so much for coming by!
