Happy Friday, Pinkfresh friends! Yasmin here sharing a mini and dimensional inspiration card with a “Frame Sign with Ribbons & Balloons Birthday” look using the Ribbons & Balloons Stamp, Ribbons & Balloons Stencil, and Ribbons & Balloons Die. Also, to make this card, I used Basic Banners: Celebrate Stamp and Basic Banners: Celebrate Die to add the birthday card sentiment. Besides these sets, I also used the Artistic Bows Die Set to add the finished look to the balloons cluster. And lastly, I used some of the Ombre Glitter Drops: Sparkle & Shine, to add an extra sparkle touch to the card. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it.

Therefore, I started by getting the stamping over an A2-size white card panel using embossing ink, the stamping tool, the embossing powder tool, and the balloon cluster stamp image included in the Ribbons & Balloons Stamp. Right after I got the stamping done over the card panel, I also added some gold embossing over the stamped image, and then as soon as I had the heat embossing completed, I continued to get the layered stenciling using a combination of standard-size ink blending brushes and some of the 1/2 Blending Brush Set and 1/4 Blending Brush Set to add a shadowy dimensional look to the balloons. As for the layered stenciling, I used the stencils included in the Ribbons & Balloons Stencil, and for the balloon hues, I used Ballet Slipper Ink, Sparkling Rose Ink, Coral Reef Ink, Passion Fruit Ink, Lemon Whip Ink, Marigold Ink, Ocean Breeze Ink, Mermaid Cove Ink, and Olive Ink.

Next, after I got finished stenciling over the card panel, I put it aside to let it dry. Meanwhile, I created the frame sign card base, so to do that, I used the small die included in the Essentials: Diagonal Stitched Rectangles Die Set to cut out two detailed white frames. Then, I trim down a white piece of cardstock to W 3-1/4” x H 1/2” inches. And, followed by that, I added a scoring line right in the middle of the cardstock piece to create a hinge, and then, I got both detailed white card panels adhered to the cardstock piece creating the front and back parts for the frame sign or card base.

So, because I wanted to add a frame sign look to the card base, I used a piece of white cardstock to create the legs for the frame sign. Therefore, I used the paper trimmer to get eight pieces of white cardstock with the following measurements 3/4 x 3/4 of an inch; by the way, I did eight pieces because I wanted to add sturdiness to the frame sign legs.

 So, I added the sturdy touch to the legs, and then I got two of them glued to the inner front part of the frame sign as shown in the image above, and then the other two to the inner part of the backside of the frame sign as shown in the previous image. 

By the way, I left 3/8 of an inch of space on each side to get the legs glued to the frame sign. Also, if you aren’t comfortable with the legs showing when the base opens and closes, you are welcome to add extra pieces of white cardstock to cover them up. However, keep in mind that by doing that, the extra cardstock will add extra bulkiness to the card.

Moving on, after I had all the frame sign's legs perfectly aligned to the back and front parts, I proceeded to make sure that the frame sign held by itself without a problem; so, I continued with the die-cutting step for the balloons and the rest of the elements.

To get the die-cutting step for the birthday balloons cluster from the cardstock, I used the coordinating metal die included in the Ribbons & Balloons Die set. By the way, there isn’t a coordinating die to die-cut the balloons strings, so instead, I used scissors to fussy cut them out from the cardstock piece. Then, to add dimension, I used the same coordinating die and plain white cardstock to die-cut extra-balloon clusters and got them glued down together.  

Nevertheless, right after I had finished adding dimension to the balloons cluster, I got the backing to the balloons cluster glued to their strings, and then I got the back side of them glued to the front part of the frame sign base. Then, to keep going with the rest of the embellishments, I used the Basic Banners: Celebrate Stamp and Basic Banners: Celebrate Die to get the stamping and die-cutting steps to add the birthday banner to the balloons. This set has an array of banners to pick from.

So, after picking one of the banners up, I completed the look by creating something to hold the banner on. So, I used a small piece of white cardstock and rolled it around to create a lolly pop stick element. Then, I glued the ends, and I got the banner glued to the top part of it. Lastly, I got glued down the banner element to the birthday balloons cluster.

Last but certainly not least, I added an artist die-cutting gold bow to add a metallic gold touch and some of the Ombre Glitter Drops: Sparkle & Shine to add even more shine to the final look. By the way, I used the Artistic Bows Die Set and gold cardstock to create the bow. 

Finally, in the image above, you can take a side view of how fun and dimensional this frame sign-shaped card looks. As you can see, it is simple but different, at the same time, don’t you agree?
