Layered Sunburst Thank You Cards

Layered Sunburst Thank You Cards

16 May 2022 1 comment

Hi friends! Angelica here, with three cards t share with you today. My daughter recently had her 5th birthday, and I needed to make a few thank you cards for her little friends. I know the girls LOVE rainbows, so I pulled out Layered Sunburst stencils and made several backgrounds.

For all three cards, I used the first two layers to ad ink to the paper. This first card I kept pink. I used Sparkling Rose and Bubble Gum inks, and Nuvo Mambo Melon Glacier Paste for the last layer. Once the paste was dry, I trimmed the edges, attached it to a card base, and added a Nested Hot Foil Star, die-cut with the coordinating Nested Star Die. I found coordinating card stock colors to add a smaller star to each card, breaking up the white.

The second card was made the same way, this time with a rainbow background.

I started again with inking the first two layers. The first layer was light inks. I used Sunshine, Key Lime, Aquamarine, Lavender, and Bubble Gum. For the second layer, I used Marigold, Olive, Tidal Pond, Regal Kiss, and Raspberry Kiss. For the third layer, I used Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste. I picked a sentiment from Celebrating You Hot Foil for all three cards.

My last card I used three color families to make my rainbow.

I picked Bubble Gum and Raspberry Kiss, Sunshine and Marigold, and Aquamarine and Tidal Pond inks to use. I overlapped the inks to make orange, green, and violet. Once finished, I used Nuvo Golden Crystal Glimmer Paste with the third layer. It takes a couple hours for the paste to dry, but once dry, its hard as a rock! I love how the gold paste looks next to these soft ink colors.

I made several more backgrounds to finish up the thank you cards. This was my first time using this stencil set, and I LOVE it so much. It’s such a fun way to make vibrant backgrounds.

That’s all that I have for today, thanks so much for stopping by!
