Unlock Your Creativity: How to Use Pinkfresh Studio's Slimline Heart Stencil Set | Erica A-B
Hello, hello!
It’s Erica back on the Pinkfresh Studio blog today. I hope by now you have had a chance to hop along with us for the new release and been inspired from all the gorgeous new products, as well as the insane creations from the design team. I’m still pinching myself about being on this team!
Today’s card is made with the super cute Slimline Heart Builder stencils, but I’ve gone a bit rouge with them. Oh yes, you don’t have to layer them up to make fun backgrounds, nor do you need to use all of them on ever card. That’s one of the things I love about stencils, they are so versatile and such good value for money.
One thing that isn’t a surprise about this card though, is that I’ve gone for a rainbow. Again. Yep, chronic rainbow-nizer here.
From top to bottom I’ve used Mint, Ocean Breeze, Slumber, Soft Lilac, Coral Reef, Peach Fuzz and Lemon Whip. This is the order for all three layers, but I did start with the biggest hearts, stencil 1, and so on. The colours have slightly overlapped to create a soft blend, and I did the same on all three layers.
With the ink blending done, it was quick work to stamp up a sentiment ‘You are my favorite’ from the Simply Sentiments: You set with Black Ink, with the help of my MISTI. I’m useless without the MISTI, and use it for stamping even the simplest things to make sure it’s straight and solid.
The sentiment needed to be finished off and I added the diecut word ‘friend’ from the Phrase Builder: Hello set. This has been cut out of white and black card stock, and layered up. The white shadow bit has two layers to create some dimension and make the word stand out a little more.
Naturally, because I’m also a chronic over-blinger, I had to add some jewel in coordinating colours from the Essentials Jewels Mix. I had to. I really did. The jewel mix isn’t called Essentials for nothing, right? Besides, I think it draws the eye in to the sentiment and who would say this to someone without a sparkle in their eye? So the card had to have sparkle too.
I hope you enjoyed this card and will try this out for yourself, I think it would work really well with the Slimline Star Builder stencils too. *adds that to must-try-list*
Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica
