Happy Monday, Pinkfresh friends! Yasmin here sharing with you another fun fold holiday inspiration card made with a “Snowflake look using Snowflakes Hot Foil and Snowflakes Die for the large snowflakes plus, Snowflakes Background Stamp and Snowflakes Background Die for the smaller snowflakes. Also, Phrase-Builder: Happy Foil and Phrase Builder: Die Set for the card sentiment, and lastly Solid Hot Foil Plate to do the reverse hot foil stamping. So, without further ado, let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it.

Therefore, to create the fun fold effect for the card base first, I went ahead to use the paper trimmer to trim down two pieces of white cardstock at W 5-1/2 x H 8-1/2 inches and W 5-1/2 x 7-1/2 inches. Thus, after I got them trim down, I went ahead to place the smaller cardstock piece aside, and then I proceeded to trace some measurements over the large cardstock piece using a pencil and a ruler.

Thus, to trace them over, I went ahead to place the cardstock piece with the larger side vertically, and then I used the pencil and the ruler to mark some point marks at 1.0, 2.0, and 5-1/4 inches on one side and then over the other side. Next, I moved the ruler inwards leaving 1 inch of space, and then I exactly repeated the same point marks as I did previously. Then, I used the ruler once again and the pencil to trace a line between the inner 5-1/4 and 1.0-inch marks on both sides of the cardstock. Lastly, after getting those two lines traced, I went ahead to rotate the cardstock horizontally to trace a line between the inner marked lines at 4-1/4 inches. That being said, after getting all the tracing lines marked, I went ahead to use an X-acto knife and the metal ruler to cut out the inner marking lines that I marked between 5-1/4 and 1.0 inches.

Moving on, as soon as, I finished cutting the tracing lines, I went ahead to place the cardstock piece with the large part horizontally over the scoreboard tool, and then I used the Teflon bone folder to trace the scoring lines over the cardstock piece between the edge of the cardstock piece and the 1.0, 2.0, and 5/14 inches marks. Also, between the cutting lines to get the scoring line at the 4-1/4 inches mark. By the way, to make it easier, I used the metal ruler to go down to get the center part of the cardstock pieces scored and to score the other side at the same time. That being said, after I finished adding the scoring lines, I went ahead to fold them over in the way that, you can see in the image above.

So, after getting the fun fold effect completed on the top part of the card base, I went ahead to put it aside, and then I placed the other cardstock piece with the longer side horizontally over the scoreboard tool to trace a scoring line at 4-1/4 inches.

And once I had added the scoring line, I proceeded to fold the cardstock piece over, and then I got the backing of the other part of the card base attached over the inner part of the smaller flap of the bottom part of the card base. As a result, you can see in the image above hot the card base should look like once the bottom and top parts are attached. Also, you can have a better idea of how the cutting lines should look like.

You can also appreciate in the image above how the card base should look from the back view. And in the image below you are going to appreciate a side view to have a better idea of how the full effect of the fun fold works.

I promise you; it might seem complicated to make but once you get the measurements and scoring along with the cutting line on point the rest is just a manner of getting the card embellished.

Afterward, to continue with the card embellished, I went ahead to do some hot foil stamping by using Snowflakes Hot Foil and a large piece of white cardstock. Also, by using the Glimmer Hot Foil System along with a piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Aura. Then, after getting the hot foil stamping done, I used the Snowflakes Die to die-cut the snowflakes out of the white cardstock.

Next, to continue with the hot foil stamping, I also used some of the hot foil plates included in the Phrase-Builder: Happy Foil and the same foil hue to get the hot foil stamping done over a piece of white cardstock. Then, I used the coordinating dies included in Phrase Builder: Die Set to die-cut the phrases out from the cardstock. But then, I also decided to use the Solid Hot Foil Plate to do the reverse hot foil step because I wanted to use the reverse hot foil stamped card sentiment for this card.

Nevertheless, after getting the hot foil stamping, and the die-cutting steps completed, and since I was using white for the card base, I decided to add some layering pieces to the card to add a subtle pop of color to it. And, to do that I used Light Pink cardstock and more white cardstock, So I went ahead to trim down a large panel of the light pink cardstock to W 5-1/4 x 4.0 inches and a large white panel to W 5.0 x H 3-3/4 inches. A medium light pink card panel to H 4.0 x 3.0 inches and a white panel to H 3-3/4 x 2-3/4 inches. Lastly, two narrow pieces of light pink cardstock to H 3.0 x W 3/4 inches and two small square pieces of the same light pink cardstock to 3/4 x 3/4 of an inch.

That means after getting the trimming down the process for the layering pieces, I went ahead to get them glued down to the card base and then, I added dimension to the card sentiments as well by adding extra die-cutting pieces to them.

By the way, before I moved on to the rest of the card embellishments, I quickly want to mention that you still going to have space where to write a personal message in the middle part of the card by leaving that part blank just like I did for today’s example but if you prefer, you can add additional layers to that space, too!

Moving forward to the card embellishments, I went ahead to add the layering pieces to the bottom and top parts of the card base. Next, I added the large snowflakes to the upper left and the lower right parts of the front card panel of the fun fold effect. Then, I added the card sentiments one to the font card panel on the fun fold part of the card and the other over the inner bottom part of the card base. Once, I had those steps completed, I proceeded to add more snowflakes to the card but this time I used smaller snowflakes that I ahead left from a previous example. But in case you wonder I used Snowflakes Background Stamp and Snowflakes Background Die for the small snowflakes.

And finally, I added an extra touch of sparkle to the card by getting glued down some of the Metallic Pearls -Gold to the center parts of each snowflake. Quick note: this card fits in an A2 size envelope even with all the layering and the addition of dimensional square foams that I used to get some of the snowflakes adhered. To fully get the card closed, you will need to fold the bottom part to the back so the Holiday phrase will have to be facing the backside. If you find this, too bulky, you can also use colored cardstock for the card base and white or even patterned paper to get it embellished avoiding that way one of the layers.

And, with that being said, thank you so much for stopping by we hope you have enjoyed reading the step-by-step for how I’ve made this fun fold holiday inspiration card made with a “Snowflake look using, amazing products by Pinkfresh Studio.
