Happy Friday, Pinkfresh friends! Yasmin here sharing with you another a very dimensional pop-up inspiration card made with a “Floral & Butterflies” look using a combination of Butterflies Hot Foil Plate, Butterflies Die Set, Small Butterflies Hot Foil Plate, and Small Butterflies Die for the butterfly effect. Also, English Garden Washi Tape and English Garden Die for the floral touch. And lastly, Modern Script Sentiments Hot Foil and Modern Script Sentiments Die for the card sentiment and Diagonal Stitched Plaid Die to add texture to the inner card panels and front card panel. So, without further ado let’s jump right into the step-by-step for how I made it.

Therefore, I started off by open up an A2 size side folding white card base and then, I went ahead to leave it flat open over my crafting table while, I went ahead to use Diagonal Stitched Plaid Die and die cut machine to die cut two A2 size white card panel. Next, after I have gotten adding the stitching plaid details to them, I proceeded to trim off 1/4 of an inch from each side using my paper trimmer and then, I went ahead to get each card panel gluing down on each inner flap from the card base.

Next, as soon as, I had finished getting both card panel gluing down to the card base, I went ahead to put it off aside while, I proceeded to create the pop-up pieces. Thus, I went ahead to trim down two pieces of white cardstock to 1.0 x 3-1/2 inches. Once, I had finished trimming them down, I had gone ahead to place one of them over my score board tool with the longer side horizontally to trace some scoring lines using a Teflon bone folder to 1/4, 1.0, 1-7/8 and 2-5/8 inches. Following by that, I repeated the same steps for the second cardstock piece and once I had those steps completed, I proceeded to fold the scoring lines over in the same direction and then, I added a strip of liquid glue to the 1/4-inch end to get the other end gluing down creating that way the first pop-up piece with a rectangle shape looking.

As soon as, I had that step completed, I proceeded to repeat the same steps for the other pop-up piece and then, I grabbed one of the pop-up pieces and I added glue to the wider right side to get the other pop-up piece gluing down together side by side.

Thus, after getting them gluing down, I proceeded to fold them upward creating a V shape and then, I added liquid glue to one side to get the full pop-up mechanism to get it adhered in the center part of the card base and edge-to- edge with the center scoring line. Then, I added liquid glue to the other side and then, I went ahead to fully close the card and hold it close for a few seconds until I was sure that the pop-up piece was completed glued to both inner card flaps.

Having that being said, you can see in the image above how the pop-up mechanism should look like once it’s adhered to the card base. If, the instruction in the previous image sounded a little bit complicated then, what you can do is add glue to the bottom part of both pop-up pieces, hold both side with your fingers and center them to get them adhered to the card base as well. Both ways will give you the same result if you make sure to center it. By the way, make sure to use heavy weight cardstock for the pop-up mechanism preferably 110lb.

Moving on, after adding the pop-up mechanism to the card, I went ahead to put it off aside to get the layered butterfly assembled. Thus, for the large butterfly I used Butterflies Hot Foil Plate along with Glimmer Hot Foil System and a large piece of Glimmer Hot Foil Roll - Matte Gold to get the hot foil stamping done over a large piece of translucent vellum. Next, after getting the hot foil stamping done, I went ahead to use Butterflies Die Set to cut out the butterfly from the vellum and to cut out extra butterflies from Gold and White cardstock + more from the same translucent vellum. By the way, I used 167 GSM translucent vellum and to get the stamping done, I added a shim using a piece of cardboard from one of the PFS packaging to add pressure when doing the hot foil stamping process.

To continue, I went ahead to place each die-cutting butterfly over the score board to trace a scoring line right in the center of its body. Then, I repeated the same step for each layer and once, I had added the scoring line to all of them, I proceeded to fold them over and the to get the gluing down together using liquid glue. And right after I got them gluing down, I went ahead to fold the butterfly to get the center part gluing down to the pop-up mechanism. So, to do that, I added liquid glue to the top part of the pop-up mechanism and then, I slowly closed the card up to get the center part of the butterfly gluing down to the inner part of the pop-up mechanism. You can see in the image above how the butterfly should look like once is glued down to it.

Lastly, after getting the butterfly gluing down to the pop-up mechanism, I went ahead to create a floral frame to the entire inner part of the card so, to do that first, I used White cardstock along with English Garden Washi Tape and English Garden Die. Then, I went ahead to get gluing down each floral cluster until I had the floral frame completed in the inner part of the card. Finally, to finish the inner part of the card, I went ahead to cut out the excess pieces from the floral clusters and them I added two small butterflies to the lower left and upper right corners. As for the smaller butterflies, I used Small Butterflies Hot Foil Plate and Small Butterflies Die along with the same glimmer foil and translucent vellum for a cohesive look.

So, after getting the card completed, I went ahead to put it off aside to create the belly band closure. Thus, to do that, I went ahead to use the same cover plate I used for the inner panels from the inner part for the card and then, I went ahead to get it trim down to 3-3/4 x 5.0 inches.

Then, I went ahead to get the front part of the smaller panel embellished with the floral wreath. This floral wreath is part of the washi tape design and, I also want to mention that I added dimension to it by layering other plain white die-cutting wreaths to it. Having that being said, after getting the wreath gluing down to the card panel, I proceeded to get it embellished by adding a sentiment to the lower right side of the wreath and by adding the other large butterfly from the set gluing down to the center part of the wreath.

In the image above you can that, I added the same layering effect to the butterfly. Also, I added dimension to the sentiment by layering plain die-cutting sentiments to it. By the way, for the card sentiment, I used Modern Script Sentiments Hot Foil and Modern Script Sentiments Die.

Lastly, to finish the belly band closure, I went ahead to trim down a large piece of white cardstock with 1-1/2 on width x 9-5/8 inches long approximately. So, I went ahead to glue down one side of it to the back side of the decorative card panel. Once, I had that done, I proceeded to wrap it around to the card to secure the other end making sure that it wasn’t too, tight or too, loose for an easy up and down sliding effect to close the card up.

So, after finishing the card belly band closure, I went ahead to take some photographs for you to see how the card looks once is completely close.

here is one more, as you can see, this card has a quite clean and simple look at glance but then, you have the surprise pop-up effect in the inner part.

Finally, this is how the card look like fully open and with its belly band closure side by side. As, you can see, I decided to skip the addition of jewels, pearls or crystals to let the shine from the hot foil stamping and the foil from the washi stand out for themselves,
