Hi all! I'm happy to be on the Pinkfresh Studio blog today with a new card made with designs from the "Delightful" release! I used the Delighted for You stamp in bold colors and the new Plaid press plate on specialty cream cardstock for an elegant stripe in the background.

I started with a sheet of pearly cream paper and used the new Plaid press plate with it, trimmed it down, and rounded the corners. My first two attempts with this plate were on white heavyweight paper, but I didn't love how they turned out. I had to keep changing the sandwich, and for this particular paper/plate combination, I needed the platform, the embossing mat, and an extra sheet of heavyweight paper to get the desired results.

I set aside my embossed panel to start coloring the flowers.

I lightly stamped the image onto white, heavyweight paper, left the stamp in the platform, and pulled out the coordinating Delighted for You stencil set. I decided to go with bold pinks and greens for my Lilies. I thought it would look lovely on the cream backing panel. I used pinks, reds, and some light orange for the blooms. And a teeny tiny bit of Regal Kiss on just some of the petals to darken the tips and for interest. I used green, lime, and yellow for the leaves. Sometimes, I layered Raspberry Bliss over Berrylicious or Sparkling Rose over Apricot and Sweet Mustard. I lightly brushed some Warm Buff over the orange/yellow leaves to make them golden. It looks like I even used a little teal in a couple of places!

The coloring part of this process might be my favorite. I love to explore.

When everything was colored in, I put the image back into my stamping platform and used Detail Black to bring out the detail. I let it dry for just a minute before die-cutting with the coordinating Delighted for You die set.

I hot foiled, with pastel pink, the JOY sentiment, on cream cardstock to match the backing panel. I placed a few die-cut stems from the Wildflower Bouquet die set under the letters before popping them up with foam tape. I also popped up the floral image. And that just-right stamped sentiment is from the Delighted for You stamp set. And I'm done with my card!

I hope some of these design choices have inspired you to make something new today! Thanks so much for stopping by!

-Anne
