Thanks and Dream Frosted Geo Backgrounds

Thanks and Dream Frosted Geo Backgrounds

Good morning! Heather Hoffman here this morning to share a couple cards that are actually featuring some "leftovers" from my first video filmed for Pinkfresh Studios - which will actually be posted on the Pinkfresh YouTube today (and full detailed post on my blog HERE as well!). I love when you can create cards, and then still make use of the leftovers to make even more - no waste, and great stretch of creativity!

These cards feature the lovely Geo Floral Background, and Geo Leaf Background. For my video, I die cut them from white cardstock and used them as a stencil for embossing paste that was tinted with Pinkfresh Liquid Watercolors. I set these aside, and as they dried, they looked like the die cuts had been "frosted" with lovely tinted frosting! So I carefully trimmed off the outside frame to use as the backgrounds on these cards.

For this first card, the background features the Geo Leaf Background, and Key Lime Liquid Watercolor. For a sentiment, I used Word Series: Thanks, and the coordinating Word Series: Thanks Die - keeping them simple and black and white to contrast with the gorgeous backgrounds.

I heat embossed the smaller sentiment, adhered it directly to the lacy panel, then mounted the large thanks with foam adhesive. At that point, I used sturdy adhesive behind just the sentiment areas to attach it, leaving the rest slightly free-floating for loose dimension.

For this second card, I used Geo Floral Background, and Aquamarine Liquid Watercolors for the background. The sentiments are from Word Series: Dream with the coordinating Word Series: Dream Dies, also in simple black and white.

I attached these together the same way - I love the slight dimension, and not having to worry about hiding the adhesive!

I hope this inspires you to look at your leftovers from your next project and find unique ways to use them to create additional cards!

Thanks so much for joining me here today! Don't forget to check my blog, Houses Built of Cards, for details on the original cards that these were created from! Hope you have a wonderful day!!!
