Thankful and Thoughtful Cards | Alix Davis

Happy Presidents' Day!

Alix here showing you two cards that I made with gorgeous products from Pinkfresh Studio January release. Are you ready to take a look at them?!

For my first card, I am showing you how badly I am ready for spring. The place I live doesn't snow but we got lots of rains. It was a cold winter comparing to the past a few year. Regardless my whole family usually suffer seasonal allergies, I am dying to see nicer weather with flower blooming. I stamped out the image from Heart and Soul Stamp set and cut it with Coordinating Die. Then I colored it with Copic markers and detailed with a white gel pen,

I grabbed a piece of A2 sized watercolor paper and ink blended using Tim Holtz Distress oxide ink in Twisted Citron and Cracked Pistachio. Then I splattered the paint that was made with mixture of Cracked Pistachio ink and water over the background.

Once it was dry, I die cut the center using Circle frame with Botanicals Die. I closed the window from the backside with adhering a piece of acetate with glue.I flipped the card front around to the backside and added foam Strips to all four sides of the window. I filled the window with clear seed beads and confetti.then closed this shaker by attaching it onto the background.

I heat embossed sentiment from this stamp set with white embossing powder onto a piece of black cardstock. I hand cut it into rectangle shape and attached it around the shaker window. At last, I added some clear droplets to embellish the card.

For my second card, There was no coloring involved. Gatsby Die might be simple but it's very versatile. I first cut two sets of die cuts out of Gold glitter paper. I also cut the overlapping layers out of Vellum paper. I set them aside.

To prepare my background, I ink blended the background using Tim Holtz distrss oxide ink in Tattered Rose, Seedless Preserve, Shaded Lilac and Salty Ocean. I also splatter ink over the background to create textures.

I adhered my die cuts to the left side of card, then I stamp "Thank you" sentiment from Scripted bold sentiments 1 Stamp set using black ink.I heat embossed sentiment from  set with white embossing powder onto a piece of black cardstock. I hand cut it into skinny rectangle shape and attached it right under the large "Thank you" sentiment. I at last embellished my card with some clear sequins.

Hope you will have a fantastic holiday and be inspired by my projects today. See you around soon!
