Stamped / Embellished Hybrid Tags + Striped Card | Rebecca Luminarias

Hello Pinkfresh friends!  It's Rebecca with you today and I'm combining my love of embellishments with a newfound respect for stamping on some pretty hang tags.

Even though I don't make too many (okay, so none) layouts, scrapbook paper and embellishments are always my first grab when it comes to making cards and tags.  However, on this project, instead of patterned paper, I used the large floral stamp from the Be You stamp set to create an easy background.

I cut 4 strips of paper measuring 2.5" x 4" when folded and stamped it lengthwise on my card front.  Two cards are vertical and two are horizontal.  The beauty of the stamp is that it looks great whichever way you lay it out.  I used black ink on 2 of the tags and a coral-pink on the other 2.  I added a doily to the back of each card for an extra pretty detail.

Then I embellished!  Most of the stickers and die cuts are from Let Your Heart Decide, though one or 2 other pieces from The Mix No. 2 sneaked their way in.

The "hello happiness" die cut on this card is one of those sneaky embellishments.  I'm such a fan of that bright yellow and I love it paired against the black stamp details.  There is also some of my go-to pale pink tulle, as well as some peachy floral die cuts and a 'torn' label sticker from LYHD.  When choosing my ribbons, I went with the lesser used peach and gray for this card, hoping to make them pop a little more.

I did a little stamping on the inside of the card, too, which I'll show you in just a moment...

Next is another card that's heavy on the florals, using die cuts and a 3-D sticker, as well as a wood veneer sticker.  (And more tulle, of course!)  The greens against all the pinky-corals really pop and add vibrance against the more muted hues.  Not wanting the aqua to get lost, I chose that as one of my ribbon colors.  You'll see more of that shade on the inside, too!

I was recently asked to make some cards for a friend and I decided to revisit a set I made back in this March post for Pinkfresh.  They are stamped floral cards using the large floral cluster in the Fleur 1 set.  I stamped them in black ink and ever since then, I have been on a kick with different PF black outlined floral stamps--I love them!  I'm using VersaFine ink, which has such amazing coverage, especially on these stamps with so many fine details.  Plus, it's really crisp, especially when used on high quality stamps, like PF offers.  While I still love the coral-stamped tags for their sweet softness, the black-stamped tags really stand out, I think, especially with the bold, flowery pattern in Inna Moreva's Be You stamp.

This tag is very bold, in fact, with the graphic text sticker and the bright greens, both in the tassel bow, as well as the leafy die cut.  Instead of tulle, I added a bit of lace and some gold metallic thread for extra texture.

One great thing about the coral ink is that it really goes with anything--like ALL the colors in the "amazing" puffy sticker!  I tried to bring as many of them out as I could with the stickers, die cut, and ribbons.

I even added more color to the inside, stamping the sentiment from Be You and the branches from the Let Your Heart Decide stamp set.  Here's a peak at all the insides of  the cards, in fact!  "Love always" is the perfect sentiment for a tag, which is why I used it on 3/4 of them.  It's also from the LYHD set, as are all the florals and leafy stems.

All that's left to do is tie these cuties onto some gifts and I'm ready with my 2-in-1 card and tag!

I do have one more quick card for you today; this one is all about the stripes!  I picked and chose a few different lined embellishments from A Case of the Blahs and brought them together for this fun card.  I started with doilies again, then lay down a tattered piece of the yellow striped paper called "Blah"...which, come on now, is anything BUT blah!!

I turned to a couple of the chipboard frames next.  Stripes on stripes on stripes works here because the lines are different thicknesses and proportions.  The blue frame has wide white gaps in it, while the stripes of the "Blah" paper are closer together and thinner.  The top black and white frame has only a portion of perfectly spaced lines, but they're vertical instead of horizontal.  Even the die cut leaves from the ACOTB ephemera pack are striped!

To finish off the card, I borrowed a 3-dimensional sticker from Let Your Heart Decide--but it's still got lines!  And yes, the sentiment matches one of the tags from earlier in the post.  It's just such a good one, I had to use it twice!

I hope you found a little inspiration here today, especially if you're a card maker wondering how to use the fantastic paper and embellishment collections Pinkfresh Studio offers.  There's nothing wrong with a little hybrid stamp/embellishment project every now and then!

Hey there! Love the card/tags. Rebecca, I’m just always blown away by your beautiful examples. I forget to look for other sets that will go with the theme. Your examples give me so many great ideas. I’ve been stamping since 1988, I’m pretty good too! Oh, but you inspire me. I have been really down lately, for various reasons. But, last night I wondered onto your instagram (I don’t subscribe to any of the social media outlets. My Facebook account was compromised so I deleted account and will never reopen.) and I have to say I want to make one of everything!! I think you’re my new happy place!! I’m grateful I found you on papertrey, which lead to etsy, which lead to pink fresh, and then another whole new Instagram place. Please keep up the great work of inspiration, Jo
