Spring blooms with Emily!

Spring blooms with Emily!

Good morning! Emily Midgett here with you today for my February post and projects using the newest release. Our weather keeps yo-yo-ing around.... frigid cold one day, then 50* the next day... so I'm trying to invoke the early spring promised by that groundhog with springy color combinations and pretty flowers. :)

For my first card, I used the gorgeous new Make A Wish stamp set and dies! I began by stamping a variety of the elements included in the Make A Wish set in a charming coral, icy blue, peach, and mint color scheme. For the greeting, I stamped one of the super cute and unique greetings from Make A Wish onto a thin strip of white card stock, then pulled out the Let's Party die set. I used my ink blending brushes to blend a light coral ombre on a panel of scrap white card stock, then used the intricate Let's Party dies to die cut an ombre die cut greeting. While I had my blending brushes out, I blended some of the same pale blue ink on the card front in the center to create a little halo around my cake. I arranged all of the die cut pieces and adhered them with a combination of liquid and foam adhesives.

For my second project, I wanted to use the new Embroidered Blossoms stamp set. I can't get enough of it.... it's SO gorgeous. And I wanted to create a floral bouquet using the same springy color scheme. I stamped several blooms, berries, and foliage from Embroidered Blossoms using the same inks from the first card, then die cut them using the coordinating dies. I also die cut the Oval Foliage die from some white card stock and backed it with some pretty sky blue card stock that coordinated nicely with the blue ink used in the bouquet. I popped up the partially-cut leaves so that the blue would just peek through.

I arranged the blooms in the corner of the card front to create a pretty swag, then popped them up with dimensional foam adhesive. I also stamped a greeting from Oval Foliage on a strip of white card stock and nestled it amongst the blooms with some foam adhesive. The final touch was to add some pale blue gems to add a touch of sparkle.

Well, that's all for me today! I hope you're enjoying more pleasant weather wherever you are... It either needs to be beautiful, pristinely white snow or spring time, in my opinion! Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a marvelous day!
