Simply Backgrounds | Caly Person

Hi, Friends!

It's Caly with you today sharing two cards using the new Simply Diamonds and Simply Hexagons dies.   These are great cover plate dies that add pattern and interest to your cards.

My first card uses the Simply Hexagons die.  I placed the Eucalyptus Fantasy Washi over white cardstock and die-cut the wreath to add over my ink-blended planel.

To create my background, I ink-blended Scattered Straw and Wild Honey Distress Oxide Inks over a cardbase.  I splattered it with water and yellow and black paint to give it texture and interest.

I adhered my hexagon background directly to the card base, then attached my wreath using foam adhesive to give it dimension.  My sentiment is embossed over vellum using Versafine Onyx Black ink and clear embossing powder.  Finally, I embellished it with yellow jewels.

My second card features the Simply Diamonds die and the Forever In Our Hearts set.  I stamped and colored my butterfly with Copic markers before die-cutting.

Copic markers used:
E30, E31, E35
RV10, RV32, RV34
BG10, BG11, BG13
B000, B02

For this card, I ink-blended the background with Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Inks.  I splattered this one with water, white and teal paint.  Like my first card, I attached my image with foam adhesive, embossed a sentiment and embellished with jewels.

I hope you enjoyed this pair of cards created with the new "Simply" series background dies!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Beautiful! Simple but elegant. I enjoy seeing the creativity of others and and appreciate the opportunity to learn and grow as a novice in paper crafting.

I really like the idea of splattering the paint (especially the black) over the distressed backgrounds. It gives great texture.

I have been using more and more background dies to highlight my focal points since using Altenew products.

I love the background dies. Also it’s hard to believe the wreath was made using washi tape! Finally, I just Love your butterfly. : )
