Office Hours Layout Inspiration | Kathleen Graumüller

Office Hours Layout Inspiration | Kathleen Graumüller

Hey there everyone, it's Kathleen here and I'm excited to share my first projects with the new, supercool Office Hours collection with you!

As soon as I saw the Prioritize paper in this collection, I knew exactly what I wanted to use it for. It just screamed fussy cutting to me and I immediately thought of cutting the different folder strips apart and use them on a layout somehow.

Since they represent file folders, I wanted to give my layout the same look. So putting my photo on top of the red folder just wouldn't work since, obviously, you normally put your files in the folder rather than on it ;)

That's when I had the idea of attaching the red folder with some clear adhesive tape to my 12"x12" white cardstock so that you can actually fold it open to the left side. I then adhered the other folder parts directly onto the white cardstock. I didn't glue down the tabs though, so I would be able to fold them up and give them more dimension and depth.

Since I had a lot of space on the inside of my folder layout, I decided to fill it with lots of photos. The theme of this layout was inspired by the "Yes. Love my job" ephemera piece, so I picked out photos that show different aspects or events that illustrate why I love it.

I'm very fortunate to be able to call scrapbooking my job and that meeting other fabulous scrapbookers, teaching scrapbooking workshops, working on tradeshows for companies in the industry and getting to design for some of my favorite papercrafting companies is part of it.

I simply created a collage of 14 photos on an A4-sheet of photo paper (roughly 8.5"x11") and printed them in black and white. I didn't want the page to be too busy, so black and white was the way to go. I then used a stamp set from my stash to stamp the numbers from 1-14 in coordinating colors onto each photo.

On the left side I created a little cluster from three notepads I had fussy cut frim the Hustle paper and embellished it with some puffy stickers and cardstock stickers from the Office Hours collection.

I then cut up the grid pattern packaging from the puffy alphabet stickers and used it to type my journaling onto it. I added some thoughts about each photo using the corresponding numbers and then adhered it down. You will see that a few numbers are missing but that's because some of the photos have the same explanation - I just forgot to add the second number to it.

On the outside I used another notepad from the Hustle paper and embellished it with some chipboard stickers and puffy stickers, and of course I added the ephemera piece that inspired this whole page.

The second layout I made with the Office Hours collection was created for the July Challenge and again features the notepads from the Hustle paper. The challenge is about die cuts and cutfiles (and, as always, features a certain color scheme) but I decided to interprete it a little more freely and include fussy-cut pieces.

The notepads with the pieces of washi tape at the top reminded me of a collage or moodboard, so that's the look I was going for on this layout. I used five of the fussy-cut notepads and also added in two of the wood accent stickers and an ephemera piece that has the same washi taped look.

Both photos show me at my desk where I do all the work (and drink alll the coffe ;) ), so I decided to embellish the page with different office-type items from the chipboard stickers like scissors, a ruler and a pencil. And in my workspace you will always find plants and coffee, so I had to add these on there as well.

For the title I used the "Hustle" piece from the ephemera pack, which again inspired this layout. I just absolutely love when that happens: you look at one piece and get an idea for a whole page!

Finally I added some enamel dots from the mixed embellishments pack (and a few from my stash) and I also cut down the white cardstock and then framed the page with the backside of the Inspiration paper. It just felt a little bit too empty and since I was going for that moodboard look, I thought a frame would work well for that!

That's it from me today. I hope you enjoyed seeing these pages and feel inspired to get crafty with your Office Hours collection! And don't forget to check out the July challenge and enter to win some awesome prizes!

Thanks a lot for stopping by! Xo, Kathleen
