Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today sharing some projects using some of our newest Essentials die release. I have been noticing a distinct pink and purple trend in my Instagram feed, so I wanted to switch things up a little! My husband and I are heading to the beach for our anniversary, so I used a tropical combination of bright, mustard yellow and hot pink for today’s projects to get in the tropical mood! Let’s get started with the details.
For both projects today, I used a single sheet of the beautiful floral patterned paper in the 6x6 Joyful Day paper pack as my starting point. On my first project, I used an A2 panel of this pretty patterned paper as my background, then die cut a piece of mustard-yellow card stock using the new Pretty Frames 2 dies, reserving the interior die cuts for another project and adhering the larger, more substantial frame to my floral card front using foam tape.
Next, I gold embossed the floral portion of the new Hanging Florals stamp set onto some white, Copic-friendly card stock, then colored the images with a pretty hot pink, mustard, and green color scheme. I then die cut the image, trimming off the round wreath portion and leaving only the floral swag.
I also die cut a hot pink tag using the new Essentials Fancy Frames dies, adding a bright white Hello die cut from our Essentials Classic Words dies. I added the tag die to the bottom right corner of the card front using foam tape and added the floral swag over the corner of the die cut tag. The final touch was a few hot pink jewels from the Essentials Jewels embellishment pack for a little sparkle!
For my second card, I used the leftover strip of floral patterned paper on the border of my card front. Using another panel of yellow card stock, I die cut a lacy edge using the new Lacey Edgers dies, then layered it over the top of the floral patterned edge using liquid adhesive for a nice flat card front. Next, I gold embossed a floral swag from Just A Little Lovely, coloring it again with the same shades of Copic markers to create a cohesive little card set.
To back the greeting, I die cut another Essentials Fancy Frames tag die, this time from a panel of heavyweight vellum. I really love using vellum to offset a sentiment on a busy background; the vellum softens the background and allows the greeting to stand out! I adhered a hot pink die cut Best Wishes from the Essentials Classic Words dies, then added the floral swag over the top, hiding the adhesive behind the overlap on the florals and the vellum tag. I added several pieces of foam tape (using thin pieces of clear foam tape behind the die cut sentiment) and adhered it to the card front. The final touch was a few more hot pink jewels from our new essentials jewels collection!
Well, that’s all for my projects today. I’m off on vacation this week, and I hope my projects give you a little taste of the beach! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous week!
