Hello friends! It's Kelly here today sharing two cards using sentiments as the focus to create fun and different looks! It's always fun to pull out older supplies and mix them with new for a completely fresh look like I did with the unicorn card! I also love playing with alphabets to create my own sentiments to complement the sentiments in various stamp sets like I did on the JOY card!
We typically use and see the word JOY on Christmas designs and decor, but using it on a floral card like this gives it a totally new look. This would be perfect for a birthday or wedding card, don't you think? I did some emboss resist for the background using the fabulous Floral Diamond background stamp using Sweet Mustard and Marigold ink. I left the middle lighter so that the ink would frame the beautiful Modern Layered Floral. I die cut the letters using the Adore Alphabet dies and added some ink blending toward the bottom. I did the same thing on the Artistic Bows and used hot glue to secure it. It looks so cute at the bottom of the bouquet!
I heat embossed the "wishing you joy today", which is from the Modern Layered Floral stamp set as well, in gold onto vellum. I wrapped it around the yellow card base and secured it in the back using clear tape. I mounted the entire yellow panel onto a white top folding card base using foam squares. The finishing touches are some white Nuvo drops and some Jewels.
I've been dying to use this amazing Whole Lotta Awesome sentiment and I knew it would be fun to pair it with the super fun Magical Unicorn stamp set. This was my very first stamp set from Pinkfresh Studio and I've had so much fun with it! I decided to give this cutie a little make-over! LOL! I gave her some fresh flowers around her ears using the Lovely Blossoms stamp set.
The Slim Diagonal Stitched Rectangles is the perfect choice to use both the sentiment and the unicorn image. I just love the possibilities that the slim cards give! I also added some extra detail on both sides with the amazing Slim Lacy Edgers with some ink blending.
I used gold glitter cardstock for the unicorn ears and heat embossed the horn and sentiment in gold. I also stamped the star cluster here and there to give the card some added "magic"! Of course I HAD to add some jewels on this card as well! I hope you get a chance to look at some of your older sets in a new way by adding in some new stamps and dies! Thanks for joining me!
