Floral Background Card w/ Gold Heat Embossing & Colored Pencil Coloring

Floral Background Card w/ Gold Heat Embossing & Colored Pencil Coloring

Hi, crafty friends! It's May here with a bold floral background card. This card is very easy to make, but it takes a bit of time to complete.

I started by stamping my background image using the Floral Background stamp set with white dye ink on a A2 size black cardstock. Then I colored my background image with Prisma Colored Pencils.

After my coloring was done, I stamped my background image again with watermark ink. Then I heat embossed the image with gold embossing powder.

You can skip the process of stamping your image with white ink and do heat embossing it directly if you want to. However, I found it's easy to color in the stamped image, not the embossed image, especially when each image has small openings and detailed lines.

Next, I heat embossed my sentiment from the Let's Celebrate stamp set with gold embossing powder on a piece of white cardstock.

I trimmed off my colored panel into 4"x5.5" and mounted it on an A2 size top folding gray card base using 3M foam tape. I finished off my card by mounting the sentiment banner on the right side of my card front.

That's all for today. Hope my card inspired you to create a card using your background stamp and colored pencils.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Happy crafting!
