I don't know about you, but I am SO ready for spring, sunshine, warmer temperatures and just being outside! And the LYHD collection fits this mood absolutely perfectly, I think :)
And it doesn't only fit my mood perfectly, but also the photo that I wanted to use for this layout! But see for yourself:
The colours in my photo match the colours of the collection to a T and even the floral elements are there! You can't imagine how excited I was, when I realized that I finally had the perfect papers and embellishments to use for this photo :)
When I started my page, I had a completely different design idea in mind, but that changed as I went on. Right at the beginning I also set myself the challenge to only use papers I had already cut into from the 6"x6" paper pad for my layout because I wanted to use these up before I cut into any new papers :)
As you probably know by now, if you've seen some of my layouts or read some of my other blog posts, I am not a big fan of my own handwriting, which is why I often include hidden journaling on my layouts. At least when there is something that I want to document about the photo.
To be able to include some hidden journaling on this page, I used the left piece of patterned paper in the bottom row to make a pocket out of it. To do so, I used my sewing machine to stitch the paper down on three sides and kept the right side open.
Now I can slide in the tag that I took from the The Mix No. 2 ephemera and add my journaling on there.
The title was made using three different colours of the The Mix No. 2 alphabet puffy stickers. I absolutely LOVE these letter stickers and the colours they come in (8 in total) because there is always at least one that will fit your project, and the size is just perfect.
But mixing and matching them is also a lot of fun :) I already made another layout where I mixed seven of the eight colours available, you can see it here.
For the final touches I added some paint splatters (like I usually do) and bent over the top left corner and put some patterned paper behind for another fun detail and added pop of colour.
If you would like to see how this layout came together, you can watch the process here:
Thanks for stopping by! See you soon!
