Delicate Shaker Cards Featuring the Spring Floral Die | Ivana Camdzic

Delicate Shaker Cards Featuring the Spring Floral Die | Ivana Camdzic

Hi Friends! I'm so excited to be joining you today to share how I made two very fun shaker cards, perfect for Valentine's Day, or simply just because.

A few of the steps are the same, so I'll share those together, as it makes it a little easier if you wish to make a few of these cards at time.

For both of my cards, I first decorated the top layer, and for my two bases, I used soft blush cardstock pieces - these came with a scalloped edge, but it would be just as easy to use a simple cardstock base in your favorite color.

Before creating my shaker card, I first used the new Circle Frame with Botanicals die, to cut out a circle window out of the two bases.

I then adhered a piece of clear cardstock along the back, to cover the circle opening. Before adhering the clear cardstock, I used the new Scripted Bold Sentiments 1 stamp, to heat-emboss this gorgeous sentiment (I used heat-resistant acetate). I absolutely adore the size of these sweet fonts!

I used the very sweet and dainty new Folk Elements die to cut out little floral accents, which I added around each little circle window, along with some Nuvo drops and a sweet button.

For my favorite part of the card - I used the beautiful, new Spring Floral die, to cut both the base, and the dainty top layer, that comes as a part of this set. For the base, I used soft pink and soft purple ink to blend out a pretty ombre look, and for the detailed portion, I used kraft cardstock. I adhered these layers together, and then added them to my card base.

For my second card, I followed similar steps, but decided to switch up my hues.

After all the decorative touches were done, I adhered each front cover to a piece of same-sized cardstock, using foam tape all around the perimeter, to create my shaker.

Before completely gluing down all foam tape, I sprinkled in a mix of glitter and seed beads. Pink combo for the first card, and a soft white and ivory combo for the second.

For my second card, I also added a pretty bow to the top, accentuating the feminine and layered look. I kept the ink blending to a single tone for this card - a soft pink - along with a matching embossing powder for the pretty sentiment.

I can't get enough of these girly and feminine details!

Thank you so much for joining me today - hope you have a happy and crafty day!

Darling, Ivana!!! I adore them both! love the use of kraft card with these delicious, soft, feminine colors, and all the girly loveliness of buttons, and bows ! I struggle getting my shaker cards to ‘seal’ properly … but who wouldn’t love to try, try again with these fabulous tiny squares of glitter?
