Hello crafty friends,
Zsoka here with you today with my Designer Spotlight post! I'm sharing a bit of information about myself, some new projects AAAND a giveaway generously sponsored by Pinkfresh Studio :).
About myself: I'm Hungarian but have been living in Germany for 13 years. I moved here for a job and to be closer to my boyfriend who is Dutch. After a couple of years he moved here too and soon after that we welcomed our little one! Who is unfortunately not so little anymore, turning 10 this year! I started scrapbooking in 2015 but I've been crafting all my life. Up to now this is the craft that has stuck with me the longest - I get bored with one thing fast. I'm happy I still love it, because I spend so much money on supplies, I'd feel really bad if I had to give away everything! However, to change things up a bit, I started making more cards a couple of months ago. When Pinkfresh came out with dies last year, I bought myself a manual die cutting machine just to be able to use them, they were so awesome! Patterned paper and dies are more my style, but I enjoy stamping now too. This doesn't mean I'm planning on stopping making layouts at all though... I hope you'll join me on this new adventure! You can find me on Instagram or on my blog!
For today's post I decided to go with the Magical Unicorn stamp and die sets as well as the Enjoy the Journey stamp and die sets. I'm no fan of the unicorn trend but leave it to Pinkfresh to come up with a design that is completely different and non-traditional (which is why I love Pinkfresh in the first place!). Actually there's an older unicorn set, Unicorn Dreams, that is designed by the same designer as the second set I'm using today and it is GORGEOUS too!
I made three cards with the same design, only in different colorways. I stamped and embossed all the horns first with different glitter embossing powders. You can see the glitter better in the close-ups (hopefully)! I then die cut everything I needed, horns, flowers, ears.
I stamped the eyes and sentiments on my 4.25x5.5" card fronts - the white one I embossed. I added some stamped/embossed details to the flowers and a few of them I hand-stitched too just to give them a bit more texture and interest.
I started adhering things down - I popped up some of the flowers using foam dots for some additional dimension. I used some Nuvo drops for the flowers centers too.
To finish off these cards, I stamped some stars using copper ink/added a few ink splatters.
I also wanted to create something a bit different with the set. I was talking to my friend, Enza, while I was working on my cards, and she said: make a wreath! Hmmm. Had to think about that for a second haha! In the end I didn't go with a wreath but the idea is the same here.
I used two kinds of embossing powder on the horns, gold glitter and blue glitter. The blue is the most amazing embossing powder I have ever owned! Just beautiful! I added some hand-stitched details to some of my flowers, and watermark to the rest (with Versamark ink).
The complete card front measures 4.5x4.5" which I adhered to a same sized top folding card base. I stamped my sentiment on the card front then arranged everything the way I liked it and glued them down.
As a finishing touch I splattered some navy ink on the card.
I created another card too, for which I used the adorable Enjoy the Journey stamp and die sets. I cut out some cloud shape to use as a stencil and used some light blue distressed ink to create my background. I wanted it to be light but my inked was apparently dried out so it's barely visible in the photos! I also added some light blue ink splatters. I stamped some birds on my background.
I stamped and die cut some balloons, kites and the little girl and bunny in the cup. I colored everything with watercolors then assembled my card. I used liquid glue for some images and foam adhesive for others, again, for added dimension. The size of this card is a standard 4.5x5.5".
I hope you like my cards and I could inspire you in some small way!
