Designer Spotlight | Carissa Wiley

It's the start of a new month, which means we have a new Designer Spotlight! For the month of August, we are highlighting the super talented Carissa Wiley. Carissa is one of our newest card designers in the Pinkfresh Studio family, and her gorgeous style is a perfect fit! We LOVE having her on the team!

How about we get to know Carissa a little better?

Hey everyone! I’m Carissa from SprinkledWithGlitter.com and I’m thrilled to be in the Designer Spotlight this month for Pinkfresh Studio. I’m a working mom of three (20, 16 and 14) and I have an amazing husband, James. By day I’m a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric, NICU and Postpartum units of my local hospital. I live a blessed life and I’m thankful every single day!

What inspired you to start paper crafting?
I started scrapbooking after my son was born 16 years ago. I’ve always been creative and enjoyed various kinds of crafts. While I enjoyed the process, I found 12x12 layouts to be very overwhelming. I found card making and stamping and it was so much more manageable for me to create and complete a project. I’ve been doing it since…and loving every minute of it! I love sharing online through video tutorials, online classes, photos and more. Hope to see you over

What best describes your paper crafting style?
Clean and simple with a bit of sparkle….always a bit of sparkle.

What draws you to Pinkfresh Studio products?
I love the whimsical designs of Pinkfresh. The designs lend themselves to so many different crafting styles. My first Pinkfresh product were the Say It With Florals and Forest Friends stamp sets and coordinating window dies. I love these products. Simply adorable. You can view those projects HERE.

What is your very favorite color combo?
Gold and corals are definitely my favorite colors…and I love to combine them with mints & navy!

What is one tip you have for someone just getting started in paper crafting?
You don’t need it all.  Sure, it’s fun to have it all…. “But out of limitations comes creativity.” - Debbie Allen

In other words, sometimes having less forces our mind to think out of the box and leads to more creativity.  Don’t be afraid to mess up. Give it a try. Not everything I try works. I have complete fails too!
