Hello Pinkfresh friends! Hope you’re having a great week! It’s TaeEun here today with a card in yellow and gray featuring the Folk Art Birds hot foil plate and coordinating layering stencil and die sets. Did you know that Illuminating (yellow) and Ultimate Gray are the Pantone color of the year 2021? I love this combination and wanted to try it on the cute Folk Art Birds image.
To begin I I hot foiled the Folk Art Birds in silver foil on a white cardstock panel. I then stenciled the image using the coordinating layering stencil set. I used Sweet Mustard and Marigold for the flowers and birds and Misty Coast and Rocky Slope for the leaves. The wings and beaks of the birds are supposed to be stenciled with the leaves, but I left them to add Sky Blue instead of gray hue for a pop of color other than yellow and gray.
After the stenciling was finished I cut the image using the coordinating die and set it aside.
As the background for my Folk Art Birds I chose a DIY yellow ombre panel. I ink blended a textured white cardstock in the yellow Rise and Shine color family and cut it with a die of the Stitched Rectangles die set. I also colored the white cardbase in an ombre gray fashion by ink blending the bottom of the card front in Misty Coast.
I foam mounted the yellow ombre background panel on the cardbase and added the Folk Art Birds image on it using foam tape. I left the die cut pieces in the negative panel, adhered the foam tape on the back of the images and placed them on the card. I then removed the negative panel. The sentiment from Simply Sentiments: Thank you set was white heat embossed on the strip of gray cardstock. I finished off the card by adding some yellow Jewels along the vertical middle line.
I love how this card turned out! Hope you like this too and will give the color combination a try :) !
Thank you so much!
