Hey crafty peeps! How is everyone doing today? We have had a huge snow fall here in New York so the kiddos have been having fun playing in it - a welcome break from everything else going on right now. My card today has some of the beautiful December release products and I added a bit of glitz in anticipation of the holidays!
To create my card I used a panel of rustic cream cardstock and overlaid it with the new Mirrored Triangles Stencil. I lightly ink blended Coral Reef ink over the top and then flipped it around, realigned it and ink blended with Mint ink. This creates a fun modern geometric pattern.
To add the glitz I used the Mirrored Triangles stencil once again. I selected five areas where I wanted to add a gold triangle and pivoted the stencil around and added gold using gold glitter paste. You have to be careful to strategically place the stencil to avoid smearing the paste. I flipped the direction of them a couple of times to add interest, then set aside the panel to dry.
While the panel was drying I went about creating my wreath using the new Daisy Wreath layering stencils and coordinating die. I die cut the wreath image first from white cardstock, as I find this makes it easier to line up the stenciled images. I used the same Coral Reef ink and Mint ink as before, for the leaves and flowers. I also used some Passion Fruit ink for the contrasting darker lines on the florals. AND instead of inking up the final layer, I decided to use the gold glitter paste again and add some pretty gold glitter accents to the leaves and hoop using one of the stencil layers. It adds so much sparkle!
I laid the wreath over the top of my panel and then chose a sentiment from the My Favorite Things To Say stamp set (an absolute essential for your stash - there's a perfectly sized sentiment for anything!). I stamped it in black ink directly onto the ink blended panel, then popped the wreath over the top with foam squares for dimension.
I finished by adding ivory enamel dots into the center of the flowers to add a bit of interest while keeping it neutral, then mounted the entire panel onto a notecard.
This card really sings to me - modern geometric combined with soft floral, and of course, glitz, while somehow still staying soft. I hope I gave you some inspiration today to grab those stencils and get inky!
