Hello and welcome! It's Kelly here today and I'm so excited to be sharing this bright, floral card with you! It's no secret how much I love using alphabet stamps, and with Valentine's Day coming up, I've got LOVE on the brain! You could easily switch up the colors and middle sentiment to make this work for Valentine's Day!
I already knew the direction I wanted to head, so I got straight to work creating all of the different design elements! To begin, I die cut all of the small wreath pieces using the Leafy Wreath dies and then added Fresh Pear ink to 4 wreaths and Grassy Knoll ink to the other half. I glued the Grassy Knoll wreaths on top of the Fresh Pear wreaths for a two-toned look. I set them aside to dry and got to work creating the flowers.
I die cut a BUNCH of flowers using the Lovely Blossoms die set and then stamped them with the Lovely Blossoms stamp set. I chose cool tones of blue and purple for the flowers and used the same two colors of green for the leaves.
The sentiment, which is from the Modern Layered Floral stamp set, is stamped in black onto a strip of grey cardstock.
Next came the letters, which are die cut using the Heather Uppercase Alphabet and then inked up with Ocean Breeze ink. I also added some Mermaid Cove ink splatter for a speckled egg look. The background was created by die cutting a panel using the Essentials: Diagonal Stitched Plaid die AND then again using the Essentials: Ornate Banner die. I added some Ocean Breeze ink around the edges using a blender brush.
I also die cut the outer frame using the same Ornate Banner die with Mermaid Cove ink around the perimeter. I added it to the top of the other banner using liquid glue. Once all that was done, I was ready to assemble all of the pieces!
I used foam squares to mount everything on the background and added flowers here and there. The finishing touch is a trio of Essential: Jewels to the centers of the flowers! I had so much fun putting this together! Thanks for joining me today!
