Hi friends! It's Angela here, and I'm back with a project that features one of the gorgeous new washi tape rolls from the March Pinkfresh release. Hibiscus flowers are some of my favorite tropical blooms, and seeing the Hibiscus Washi suite instantly took me back to memories of holidays in Hawaii. Even though I don't have any trips planned in the immediate future, I'm happy to dream about them in my craft room!
To get started, I rolled out a big stretch of the Hibiscus Washi tape and used the coordinating die to cut out all of the pieces in a single pass. The largest of the images is absolutely gorgeous on its own and enough for a card front, so I decided to choose that and tuck a couple of small pieces of greenery behind in my final arrangement.
Moving into the background, I made two to layer on top of each other. I love the look of a thick white border, but my usual trimmed card front is 3.5 x 4.75" would have resulted in some cut-off when used with the Floral Grid Cover Die. Instead, I trimmed an A2 card panel down to about 3.25 x 4.5", which centered nicely on the die. Once cut, I backed it with bits of foam tape and layered it on top of a full-size A2 panel, bordered with the Blanket Stitched Rectangles die set.
These days I have a hard time making cards without at least one hot foiled element, and this was no exception. That shine is just irresistible! One of Pinkfresh's earliest hot foil items was the Celebrate hot foil plate, and that worked perfectly given the size and proportions of the other card elements. I used matte gold Glimmer foil on deep purple cardstock for contrast, stacking a few Celebrate die cuts on top of each other to create some dimension and sturdiness with the sentiment.
Annnnd there you have it! An easy-to-create card that could easily be made with many of the other Pinkfresh Studio washi tape rolls. Thank you so much for stopping by today, and I hope you get to enjoy some creative time in your crafty space today. See you back here soon! - Angela
