Elegant Friendship Blooms | Dilay Nacar

Hello friends, welcome back!

Dilay here and today, I’m so happy to be sharing a new slimline card that I created using the lovely Friendship Blooms stamp, stencil, and die set!

Today’s card was inspired by a recent trip down memory lane - my wedding! I remember loving this color scheme then and, I must say, I still love it today! Soft, dusty corals and traditional shades of green combined with a mix of modern and vintage golds - I hope you like the it as much as I do! Let’s get started!

I began with an A2-sized piece of white cardstock and heat embossed the large floral and three of the leaves using a pearl color embossing powder then added the colors using the coordinating stencils. There is a total of 5 stencils included in this set, and each layer adds depth and detail to your images, quickly and easily!

For stencil #1, I used Peach Fuzz ink and a smaller blending brush to lightly blend the first layer of color (concentrating most of the color in the center and blending outward). For stencils #2 and #3, I went with a slightly darker shade, Coral Reef,  and blended it very lightly for a subtle shadow. For the leaves, I used stencils #4 and #5 and a small ink dauber to blend Evergreen ink. For smaller images, such as leaves, I like using small finger daubers to have a bit more control when creating a gradient effect. Once dry, I die cut the images using the coordinating dies.

Now, onto the card base! I began by die cutting the slimline panel using the smaller of the two Slim Stitched Rectangle dies. To add some detail, I then lined up the Slim Lacy Edgers die on the bottom of the panel, secured it with a piece of low tack tape, and carefully die cut it. Next, I cut two of largest-sized Curvy Leaves dies in gold glitter cardstock and adhered them to the center of the panel.

After heat embossing the sentiment, in gold, on the bottom right corner, I used foam squares to adhere the flower then tucked the leaves behind it with a combination of thinner foam squares and liquid glue. To finish the card, I adhered the panel to a side folding slimline card base!

I really hope that you enjoyed my card and found some inspiration! Be sure to give layering stencils a try if you haven't already done so! You’ll be amazed by the results!
