One of the best things about summer is the sweetness of fresh fruit. The rest of the year just seems to bring poor imitations. I love enjoying as much of it as I can each year, enjoying the fruits of the season.
That's why I'm loving this gorgeous set from Pinkfresh Studio called Fruitastic. It's a gorgeous solid image set that's such easy to create with and looks beautiful simply stamped. As with all solid images though, it's also great for a myriad of stamping techniques.
I've created two sweet cards to share with you today which feature simple stamping and die-cutting that anyone can do.
My first card features the beautiful strawberry images from Fruitastic that are stamped in various shades of pink and red. They are all arranged around the sweet sentiment and popped up on dimensional foam tape for extra interest in the design.
The sentiment is stamped on a strip of white cardstock that has been scored and folded to form a banner. To create the background I die-cut the beautiful Modern Mandala Die from white card stock. This die is so gorgeous and intricate that I love using it white on white, especially when I have stamping on top of it. For intricate dies I suggest using a metal shim plate when die-cutting to ensure all the tiny cuts are perfectly die cut through.
My second card also uses Fruitastic and I've paired it up with some gorgeous patterned paper from the Be You line. The tiny quarter scale prints on the 6x6 paper pads are perfect for making cards with!
One of my favorite card layouts is to put small images into a grid and this time I've done it by layering the beautiful stamped and die-cut fruit images onto light grey circles. To highlight the textures of the images, I've accented them with white gel pen to really make these little details pop.
Thanks so much for joining me today! Please feel free to stop by my blog for full supply lists of this project and more.
