Card & Tags & Pops of Yellow by Rebecca

Card & Tags & Pops of Yellow by Rebecca

Hi guys!  Rebecca hanging out with you today, sharing some projects I made with Life Noted and Felicity.  Have you gotten your hands on these collections?  Aren't they gorgeous?  In this post you'll see that they also work really well together.

Tags are always on my crafting agenda--can you ever really have too many?  The tags here are very simple and didn't take a whole lot of embellishments.

I started with dark wood tags that I found at Michael's a Christmas or 2 ago, though I'm sure there are many other sources for buying them now.  They measure about 1.75" x 2.75" so they're not real big, but just right for what I did here.

Not too big meant I didn't have to overwhelm the composition with loads of trinkets.  It was more about drawing the eye to a handful of well-placed pieces.  A bird, a sentiment, a flower...minimal, but the brightness of 2 Pinkfresh collections makes the entire tag pop.

It's quite possible that I've used yellow on every one of my PS projects of all time! Yellow is my favorite color and whenever PS does yellow, it's the most perfect shade and I naturally gravitate toward any of those yellow embellishments or papers.  It also effortlessly goes with every other color in the PS lines, which is another reason it's such a favorite of mine.  Yellow die cut birds, yellow puffy flower stickers, and yellow wood hearts.  (Not to mention that yellow Life Noted paper I've used as my backdrop for my tags and cards in the photo shoot...)

I went with a cluster of blue, yellow, and silver embellishments for this "Keep life simple" tag.

This tag is the complete opposite of a cluster as my items are spaced out and never even touch each other.  I love the silver glitter "leaves" which are just the little punch-outs from the thick stickers (as found in the E's and flower stems, for example).

And below, the yellow and coral die cut bird with the 'beautiful" sticker, plus a couple of my embellishments from my own stash--the lace, resin flowers, and paper clip--all work to make a quick and simple gift tag.

How about a couple of cards before I go?  I chose to make these work together by using the color green (okay, and yellow) and by incorporating Life Noted 3x4 cards.

Both folded card bases are 4x4 in size, capitalizing on the height of the LN card.  For the first one, I backed some Felicity paper behind it, along with some die cuts.  The rubber charm ('This just happened") is a vibrant color pop--even with the green already being bold.  There are also doilies, a wood heart, and a peach bow that I made from leftover ends of embroidery floss.

While the words on my next card are great ones to live by, my favorite thing about the LN card is the yellow stripe!  I clustered a few Felicity bits on the lower half, and borrowed a pink ombre fabric tag from Happy Things for extra texture.

I specifically chose the small swatch of patterned paper that peaks out from underneath on the left side of the card for it's hints of green and yellow.

Thanks for looking today!  It's springtime and it's Friday so, as my last card suggests, think happy & be happy!
